Yes, I believe Jesus did not leave us powerless. It all comes down to seeking His face. Seeking God and His righteousness. Go after God until He touches you and then never let go. We should always be hungry for more of God. I believe God always has more for the hungry who seeks His face. It may mean taking time out, being alone with God “in the secret place.” a place alone away from all distractions.
Yes, God will come in and you will NEVER BE THE SAME. What are you waiting for? In this letter let me first say, isn’t it awesome that God didn’t leave us powerless? The Book of ACTS brings us the Day of Pentecost. This is the fulfillment of prophecy of the coming of the Holy Spirit for all who would receive.
Yes, filling all who desire Him, with the very power of God, to be a witness. As we look into ACTS and the promise for all mankind to receive power “AFTER the Holy Ghost (Holy Spirit) comes upon you”.
Let’s begin to receive that power to do ALL things for God as the Holy Spirit directs, leads and guides. Do you desire Him? He will give you the power to witness and to be a witness, overcoming all that Satan puts in your pathway.
Remember. “Greater is He that is in you than He that is in the world.
Acts 1:8 (NLT) “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
God created us for HIS pleasure. His desire is that we would be the vessel for His use. We were created to please God.
Just a couple of thoughts to ponder:
- What if God gave us the born again experience to get Christ in us?
- What if God sent the Holy Spirit to have Christ flowing through us and out of us with power/ authority and boldness to be a witness and testify of Christ in us.
Acts 2:1 – 4 (NLT) On the day of Pentecost all the believers were meeting together in one place. Suddenly, there was a sound from heaven like the roaring of a mighty windstorm, and it filled the house where they were sitting. Then, what looked like flames or tongues of fire appeared and settled on each of them. And every one present was filled with the Holy Spirit and began speaking in other languages, as the Holy Spirit gave them this ability.
Yes, after the disciples’ and believers received the Holy Spirit, they began to do miracles in the name of Jesus.
ALWAYS REMEMBER, the most important thing on God’s mind is the salvation of every human being. He does not want anyone to be lost but He has also given us ALL free will. We must choose Jesus for salvation and eternal life, to be with Him for eternity.
It’s our choice. The Holy Spirit gave them the Power to be witnesses and to do miracles in Jesus’ name through the power of the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever.
Just think, the Holy Spirit is here right now to give you whatever you need, according to His will.
Do you need Salvation? Ask,
Do you need forgiveness? Ask,
Do you need healing? Ask,
Do you need boldness? Ask,
Do you need power to witness and be a witness? Ask.
I have mentioned this in a previous letter but is always good to be reminded of things that will help us in our daily living. Here is an easy to remember Pattern for Prayer – spelling the word ACTS –
A.doration, praise and worship
C.onfession, confessing all wrong (sin)
T.hanksgiving, thank Him for what He has just done, cleansing you of the confessed wrong
S.upplication/ simply asking. Begin today to receive what God has for you when you pray with a right mind and a right heart. Jesus is there with you, the Holy Spirit stirring you as you are reading this letter!
Just reach out and ask your Father, God, in the name of Jesus to come into your heart, to forgive you of all you sins. Yes, Right now, tell Jesus what you need; if it’s healing believe for it until you see it through; if it’s boldness to be a witness, ask for it, believe and receive.
Here are a few more scriptures that may help in understanding this need of being filled with the Holy Ghost (Holy Spirit).
Acts 3:7 – 8 (NLT) Then Peter took the lame man by the right hand and helped him up. And as he did, the man’s feet and ankles were instantly healed and strengthened. He jumped up, stood on his feet, and began to walk! Then, walking, leaping, and praising God, he went into the Temple with them.
Acts 3:16 (NLT) “Through faith in the name of Jesus, this man was healed—and you know how crippled he was before. Faith in Jesus’ name has healed him before your very eyes.
Acts 4:7 (NLT) They brought in the two disciples and demanded, “By what power, or in whose name, have you done this?”
Acts 4:10 (NLT) Let me clearly state to all of you and to all the people of Israel that he was healed by the powerful name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, the man you crucified but whom God raised from the dead.
Acts 5:12 (NLT) The apostles were performing many miraculous signs and wonders among the people. And all the believers were meeting regularly at the Temple in the area known as Solomon’s Colonnade.
Acts 5:15 (NLT) As a result of the apostles’ work, sick people were brought out into the streets on beds and mats so that Peter’s shadow might fall across some of them as he went by.
Acts 8:6 – 7 (NLT) Crowds listened intently to Philip because they were eager to hear his message and see the miraculous signs he did. Many evil spirits were cast out, screaming as they left their victims. And many who had been paralyzed or lame were healed.
Acts 9:40 (NLT) But Peter asked them all to leave the room; then he knelt and prayed. Turning to the body he said, “Get up, Tabitha.” And she opened her eyes! When she saw Peter, she sat up! When you pray…pray in Faith…believing that you will receive and then apply/act upon the faith you have and you WILL receive!
Power was given to these men (ordinary men) by the Holy Spirit. Yes, Christ in us, the Holy Spirit working in and through the believer. The very works that they did took extraordinary power, power given to them after the Holy Spirit came upon them. How exciting to know that this same power given by the Holy Spirit is here today for us to receive. Imagine, Christ in us and Christ flowing through us.
Acts 16:16 – 18 (NLT) One day as we were going down to the place of prayer, we met a demon-possessed slave girl. She was a fortune-teller who earned a lot of money for her masters. She followed Paul and the rest of us, shouting, “These men are servants of the Most High God, and they have come to tell you how to be saved.” This went on day after day until Paul got so exasperated that he turned and said to the demon within her, “I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her.” And instantly it left her.
Acts 4:29 – 32 (NLT) And now, O Lord, hear their threats, and give us, your servants, great boldness in preaching your word. Stretch out your hand with healing power; may miraculous signs and wonders be done through the name of your holy servant Jesus.” After this prayer, the meeting place shook, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit. Then they preached the word of God with boldness. All the believers were united in heart and mind. And they felt that what they owned was not their own, so they shared everything they had.
As we read above, “All the believers were united in heart and mind.” ALL the believers were of one heart and one mind.
Acts 5:29 (NLT) But Peter and the apostles replied, “We must obey God rather than any human authority.”
Obedience to GOD must ALWAYS come first! Seek Him, and NEVER LET GO! You will receive and under stand God’s anointing when you seek Him and NEVER LET GO!
Love in Christ Jesus,
