Easter is the time we celebrate the season of the death, burial and resurrection of our Savior, Jesus Christ. To me Easter is all about the love of our Father God and His Son Jesus. Because of Jesus’s (sacrifice) testimony, we can now have communion with our Father, God.
Jesus showed us the Father’s love through Him while on earth and after His resurrection (on Easter He arose) and soon became a living testimony for all to receive.
Because of Jesus’s resurrection we can all have an opportunity to be with both our Father God and Jesus in eternity, but it will take turning our life over to Him, this is called the born-again experience.
Simply put, believing that Jesus died for you and me, following His ways and willingly turning from our sins, will bring us into that relationship. When we repent, and turn from sin, Jesus will give us a new spirit, a new mind; His Spirit. The Holy Spirit will take up residency in us making us a new man in Christ Jesus, leading us into all truth.
To have the boldness and power to be the witness of Christ it will take total surrendering your body, your mind, your emotions and yes, your will to the work of the Holy Spirit.
In other words, after salvation you might say their is another experience but the same Holy Spirit and that is the infilling of the Holy Spirit.
It’s like this; when we become born again, Christ comes into us and His Spirit is in us. When you are filled with the Holy Spirit you are surrendering/ yielding your ALL, consecrating your life to the work of the Holy Spirit.
This is where you could say the rubber meets the road. Christ in us as a born-again believer and Christ flowing through us as a Spirit filled believer.
Today, your life is being read everyday by people around you. In this letter let’s look at what it means to be a testimony? To choose life is to love the Lord your God, obey him, and stay close to him. Yes, the Christian will be known by their fruit.
Here are a few questions you may want to think about…
- Does your life show Jesus Christ in ALL you do? People are watching and looking for the TRUTH.
- Do they see the TRUTH in you?
- Does your life ALWAYS testify?
Daily – our lives are being read as a book .
- What is it that people see or who does people see you as?
- Do they see Christ, one with faith – one that is encouraging – one that believes God’s Word – one that is talking the talk and walking the walk?
My hope is that they perceive you as a Christian – Christ-like. Our lives as a Christian is to be a living testimony. In the Christian life, God’s blessings and favor are to be told – to our friend’s, family, co-workers, etc.
We ought to be so grateful to our Heavenly Father for all He has done and is doing in our lives that we should always have a testimony to share with those in our life. So many times in our busy lives it is easy to overlook what God does in our life. God expects us to (testify) to be a witness – to give evidence of all (both big and small) things He does within our lives.
I am grateful of all God has done for me. Starting with allowing me to be born-again becoming His child; as I responded to the drawing of the Holy Spirit and believed God’s plan for redemption for ALL mankind.
YES, as we received and accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior and turned away from our old life. God gave us a brand-new heart. God places new desires as we begin to follow His Word (the Bible) and desire the infilling of the Holy Spirit, walking in His footsteps, Christ flowing through us.
With that said, we become a Christian (Christ-like). Yes, I am soooo grateful for this new life in Him. My heart is filled with a joy that is beyond describable. His blessings and favor follows the believer because of the love of the Father for His children.
As we can see from the following scriptures; Jesus tells us to share the goodness and healing that God has done for us. (Let it be a testimony to all that hears – a living, caring God)
Matthew 8:1 – 4 (NLT) Large crowds followed Jesus as he came down the mountainside. Suddenly, a man with leprosy approached him… “Lord,” the man said, “if you are willing, you can heal me and make me clean.” Jesus reached out and touched him. “I am willing,” he said. “Be healed!” And instantly the leprosy disappeared. Then Jesus said to him, “Don’t tell anyone about this. Instead, go to the priest and let him examine you. Take along the offering required in the law of Moses for those who have been healed of leprosy. This will be a public testimony that you have been cleansed.”
Are you WILLING to be recruited? “The harvest is great, but the workers are few.” Are you willing…to be a worker, a servant?
Matthew 9:37 – 38 (NLT) He said to his disciples, “The harvest is great, but the workers are few. So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields.”
- Who do YOU love the most?
- Who comes FIRST in your life?
- Who do YOU put FIRST in your life?
- What do you put FIRST in your life?
God sent Jesus and the Holy Spirit to reside in us and flow through us. The Holy Spirit will guide and lead us into ALL TRUTH. Let’s make up our minds TODAY that we are going to be the testimony that God wants of us. Again, God is asking…
What comes out of YOUR mouth? Matthew 12:34 (NLT) You brood of snakes! How could evil men like you speak what is good and right? For whatever is in your heart determines what you say.
As a Christian, our life should be ALL about the Kingdom of Heaven, both spiritually and physically. Everyday people are dying and meeting eternity. Will their eternity be spent in Heaven or Hell? I am determined to make mine heaven.
How about you? Are you willing to give ALL? Yes, Christianity is ALL about sharing God’s love and what you have in this life? Matthew 13:45 – 46 (NLT) “Again, the Kingdom of Heaven is like a merchant on the lookout for choice pearls. When he discovered a pearl of great value, he sold everything he owned and bought it!
God is asking – Are you REALLY WILLING to give ALL? Your body, soul and spirit; your mind, emotions and your will. Are you REALLY WILLING to give every single thing to belong to me? This may include giving your possessions and your life for the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I’m not saying that this would be required but this question still arises and must be answered in your heart; would you be willing to give your life if it was required of you for the Gospel of Jesus? No Compromising.
In other words, are the things of this world more important to you than your relationship with Jesus? Matthew 16:24 – 26 (NLT) Then Jesus said to his disciples, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must turn from your selfish ways, take up your cross, and follow me. If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake, you will save it. And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul? Is anything worth more than your soul?
Is there anything you are not willing to give up? Are you willing to give up the pleasures of this world – including your money, your time or your life for the cause of Jesus?
NEVER COMPROMISE His Word or His ways for walking and talking the Christ life is TRULY to be the life of a Christian. What will you be doing, when Jesus returns?
Matthew 24:30 – 41 (NLT) (30) And then at last, the sign that the Son of Man is coming will appear in the heavens, and there will be deep mourning among all the peoples of the earth. And they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. … (37) “When the Son of Man returns, it will be like it was in Noah’s day. In those days before the flood, the people were enjoying banquets and parties and weddings right up to the time Noah entered his boat. People didn’t realize what was going to happen until the flood came and swept them all away. That is the way it will be when the Son of Man comes. “Two men will be working together in the field; one will be taken, the other left. Two women will be grinding flour at the mill; one will be taken, the other left.”
God wants our best…an example of giving your best from the Bible is given in Matthew 26:7 (NLT) “While he was eating, a woman came in with a beautiful alabaster jar of expensive perfume and poured it over his head.”
Yes…the woman gave the best she had…the question is, are you willing to give the best you have?
The final question God is asking you is: How do you treat the Son of God – Jesus? How we treat others and how we respond or react to the Holy Spirit, truly shows our love for Jesus. Are you kind and respect others? The very reactions or responses that we show to others is the same as doing it unto Jesus. Are you showing love in everything you do?
Heaven and Hell is a real place. Is your name written in the Book of Life? If you cannot answer this question, positively with a YES, right now, it is time to repent and give your heart and life to God. Ask Him to come in and take up residence in and through your life. May your life be a living testimony that testifies the living Christ which is to be the very life of a Christian!
You may be the ONLY Jesus that people see. Are you living that testimony? Be determined to be that living testimony!
Love in Christ Jesus,
