A New Creature

In this letter we will look at a great promise. And what a promise! Please read the next paragraph slowly. This promise is found in 1 Corinthians 1:7 (NLT) “Now you have every spiritual gift you need as you eagerly wait for the return of our Lord Jesus Christ.” The NKJ version states “…so ye come behind in no gift;…” The NIV version also states, “…Therefore you do not lack any spiritual gift…” In this verse Apostle Paul was speaking to the “church” the “believers”. Yes, as a born-again, “Christian”, Christ is in us!

As a spirit filled believer, we do have access to all spiritual gifts, including “the nine gifts of the spirit”. These gifts are available to whomever the Holy Spirit so designates, as needed and when needed for God’s purpose. Apostle Paul also states in verse 8, “unto the end …that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord”.

This promise of the gifts are needed and available for all believers who would believe and desire them. The gifts were also given “…so ye come behind in no gift…” and for the advancing of the Kingdom of God. They were given for the perfecting of the saints so that we may be presented “blameless” when the Lord returns.

Again let me say, the “Gifts” are given for the maturing of the believers in Christ; fulfilling His work, as a witness and testimony of Christ in us. What a marvelous plan God has made. Isn’t it exciting to know that God has provided to all believers, His power and gifts for doing His will, His work, while we wait for the return of our Lord, Jesus Christ.

These gifts and power are not our own – they are God’s Gifts and His Power, which are freely given to mankind as the Father designates and the Holy Spirit distributes. They belong to God. God has called each of us to be workers in His field and He has made a provision for the gifts to do that which He has for us to do and has given us the power to accomplish what He has called us for.

Thank You, Jesus…for all that you have given us! Place your name in the brackets in this scripture – Personalized: example (Paul) v.7 “( ) Now you have every spiritual gift you need as you eagerly wait for the return of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

God’s plan was developed so that all mankind could receive His plan. His plan of salvation is not determined on how brilliant or wise we are. He said all we have to do is to believe. 1 Corinthians 1:21 (NLT) Since God in his wisdom saw to it that the world would never know him through human wisdom, he has used our foolish preaching to save those who believe.

Isn’t it great to know that our salvation is not dependent on our own human intellect, but on our believing. You can receive salvation and all that God has planned for you; God’s gifts and God’s power…just believe.

Maybe you have never accepted Gods free gift of salvation. If you have not made Jesus Christ your Lord you can, right now!

1. Ask God to forgive you of your sins.
2. Repent- be willing to and turn from your sins.
3. Believe that Jesus Christ died for you on the Cross and rose from the grave.
4. Through prayer, invite Jesus Christ to come in and control your life through the Holy Spirit. (if you asked Jesus into your heart, just now… believe that you have received Him as Lord and Savior). Be committed to live for Him and allow Him to change your life.
5. Begin to thank Him for what He has just done for you; for saving your soul and giving you eternal life! What an awesome God we serve!

Now that you are born-again, begin to desire to be filled with the Holy Spirit with evidence of speaking in other tongues. This experience is separate from receiving Jesus into your heart. It can come during the time you asked Jesus into your heart, immediately following the born-again experience if you are yield and surrender to this gift of the Holy Spirit; which gives the believer the boldness to speak and be a witness, a living testimony of Christ in the believer.

The Holy Spirit will lead and guide the believer into all truth as they allow His guidance and spend time in the Word. A clearer understanding of God’s Word will began to take root in the believer.

1 Corinthians 10:13 (NLT) The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure.

God’s Word says that the temptations you have are not any different from anyone else’s. Do you believe that? Yes, many others have faced the same problems you are facing right now! What a promise…

  • “He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand.”

Regardless of what the temptation is, if you stand upon His promises you can be assured that God is faithful and God will show you how to escape temptation’s power.

Again, personalize this scripture by placing your name in the brackets: v.13 The temptations in ( ’s) life is no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than ( ) can stand. When ( ) is tempted, he will show ( ) a way out so that ( ) can endure.

Do you believe this promise…accept it…it is yours! Thank You, Lord Jesus for making a way! When a person becomes a Christian he becomes a new person inside.

Yes, a new life has begun. A NEW CREATURE! This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! The King James says it exactly the way it has to be and must be…2 Corinthians 5:17 (KJV) Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

“Christianity” is all about a new life, yes, and a changed life. Here in God’s Word it says that we are a brand-new person – a brand-new creature. The old one who had a temper, a nasty disposition, a critical spirit is gone. Yes, a brand-new creature; as the scripture states. “Therefore …old things are passed away; behold, ALL things are become new.”

God’s Word is true…we are a new creature:

  • Instead of irritation and frustration there is peace.
  • Instead of hate, there will be love.
  • Instead of misery, there will be joy.
  • Instead of impatience, there will be patience and understanding.
  • Instead of being unkind, there will be kindness.
  • Instead of being rough with everyone, there will be gentleness.

Let’s begin today to turn in all the attitudes of the old creature and take up the new ones of the new creature. They are ALL ours because of God’s promises.

Personalize the scripture above, 2 Corinthians 5:17 (KJV) by placing your name in the brackets: “When ( ) became a Christian he became a brand-new person inside. ( ) is not the same any more. A new life has begun!” DO YOU BELIEVE THIS!

2 Corinthians 5:18 – 21 (NLT) And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to himself through Christ. And God has given us this task of reconciling people to him. v.19 For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them. v.20 And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation. So we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, “Come back to God!” v.21 For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ.

  • Verse 19 above…is the most wonderful message that He gave to us to tell others. This is a promise from God that he no longer counts your sins, but has blotted them out. And then God says in
  • verse 20, He has made us – (that’s you and me and all believers); ambassadors or representatives of Christ.

Yes, as stated in verse 21; Christ took my sins, your sins, and gave us God’s goodness. What an exchange!

Let’s be determined to SHARE LOVE, SHARE GOD and yes, SHARE LIFE

Blessings to All,
Love in Christ Jesus,
Paul Lundmark
