Responsibilities Towards God

What a gorgeous morning, not a cloud in the sky and such a calm and cool breeze. Thank you God for this day.

In my morning reading from God’s Word I read in Romans about our responsibilities as Christians toward God. Let’s look at a few this morning.

…present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your resonable (logical) service. We are to offer up our spiritual sacrifices to God, that of praise and worship. We are to renew our minds to be in harmony with and guided by the mind of Christ in us. As much as possible; prayer, praise and worship should take place throughout our day. Prove what is good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

…responsibilities toward society. God has given all a measure of faith…use this faith for God’s purpose. The gifts that God have given you are to be used for his purpose and in proportion of your faith. These gifts are distributed by the Holy Spirit as needed. These gifts are not something we can learn or drum up but we are to wait on these gifts given from God and distributed by the Holy Spirit. These gifts are strickly given for the building up of the body of Christ, “the Church” and not for our own purpose, agenda or gain.

…responsibilities toward the higher powers. Our souls are subject to God. Do not resist the power of God. Do that which is good, love one another. Walk honestly. “Put on the Lord Jesus Christ (walk in, be filled with His Spirit) and make no provision for the flesh to fulfil the lusts thereof.”

Our spirit, soul and body are subjected to our creator and no part of our body including our mind should be allowed any place for the devils workshop. Keeping our mind and thoughts on God’s righteousness, purity/holiness in both thought and deed will bring out God’s favor and yes, God’s will in one’s life.

…principles of Christian liberty (freedom). Be not critical of new believers…we are free to formulate our own convictions about certain things in our own individual life but be not critical to other believers and place your convictions on them unless the things they are doing are specifically prohibited in the Word of God. We are not to make arguments and criticism over what we should eat, drink and the various problems facing today’s society in an individuals life. It is not for us to judge, that is for God to do.

ALL will be judged accordingly in regards to their works and deeds. It is enough to evaluate our own lifestyle and convictions according to God’s Word and the direction of the Holy Spirit. Sharing love, sharing God and sharing life (the very gospel of Jesus Christ) is truly all we should be doing in this life. Live the example and become the example of Christ in us.

I guess the way I look at this is; I cannot make someone obey, or become a Christian in word or deed, for it ONLY comes by the drawing of The Holy Spirit. So also the convictions of every individual; are subject to Christ and the drawing of the Holy Spirit and NOT according to my own convictions. Yes, share the Gospel of Jesus Christ and be an example of the Christ in you and allow the convicting power of the Holy Spirit to draw and convict the sinner or to make changes in the believers life and lifestyle. Love will always win…”for love covers a multitude of sins.”

Allow the Holy Spirit to bring forth the convictions in the both the sinner and new Christian. We as believers are not to be the judge. We are individually the Lord’s and are to individually live for the Lord. “Everyone of us shall give a count of himself to God.”

…practices of Christian liberty (freedom). “bear the infirmities (weaknesses) of the weak. Be patient and consul one another.

Yes, we as believers in Christ Jesus have the responsibility to be full of goodness, filled with all knowledge and able to admonish (warn) one another but be gentle in our word and deed. AGAIN, LOVE PREVAILES.

As always

Love in Christ Jesus, Paul Lundmark
