Faith that Believes the Promise

This morning as I read and ponder over the meaning of faith I am reminded of what faith is. In Hebrews we see that faith is “substance” in the greek it would be translated ” that which stands under”.

So you can say , ” faith is that which stands under (Jesus Christ) (is foundational) the things we hoped for, the evidence (or conviction) of things not seen”.

As we see in and throughout the Bible the examples of faith from patriarchs of old who by their faith received their promise. And so also we can receive the promise by faith that which we ask for. Hebrews 10:36 gives us the answer in recieving from God. “For ye have need of patience, that, after, ye have done the will of God, ye might recieve the promise”.

God’s timing is different then ours, it will take patience, believing the promise for yourself and keeping the faith.

I have often said, find the promise in God’s Word for your situation or need today, and pray the promise, be patient in well doing, believing by faith, DO NOT WAIVER, in due season YOU WILL RECEIVE the promise.

The way I see faith…One of my favorite sayings is; ” faith is seeing that which is not as though it is, according to God’s will, His Word”.

I truly believe all what we need for this life (the promises) are written in the Bible, God’s Word. Find the promise you need, believe the promise, pray the promise by faith, stand firm (be patient) without waivering and you will receive the promise that God has given or revealed to you through the power of the Holy Spirit.

So, be encouraged in God’s Word; for He is faithful to those who love Him and obey Him with their whole heart, mind, body and soul; God is a Holy God. In other words, we are to give Him our all and all, everything within us, must honor, praise and worship God our Heavenly Father, with our whole heart.

Remember, without Christ, “ye can do nothing”, but with Him, ” we have all things”. As the Holy Spirit draws you to God to seek Him, then by all means, ” seek after God”. Began to praise and worship Him, confess your sins (faults and weaknesses), again thank Him for what He has just done (forgiven you of your trespasses), NOW, what is it that you are in need of…Go to Him believing, in faith, for He is a just and righteous God.

Be blessed this Sunday morning as your day unveils.

As always,

Love in Christ Jesus, Paul Lundmark
