This morning I am so grateful for my Fathers love. God is a merciful and a loving God. God has given us His will for all to follow but because of our own selfishness we so often miss His will for our lives. Yes, many has left this world without being in the Father’s will. It is my prayer that all who reads this letter will better understand His will for your life.
So let me begin by stating, the Bible (God’s Word) is the infallible Word of God. So you might say the Bible is God’s blueprint for life given to man to believe, to follow and to obey. God said it, we are to believe it and obey (do) it.
As I continue in the book of Matthew, I have come to the conclusion to what is God’s complete will for you and me. It is found in Matthew 7:21-23 Jesus states, vs 21 “Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven, but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven”. vs. 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name done many wonderful works? vs 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from, ye that work iniquity”.
This is a sobering thought, for by this one statement we can conclude that not only pagans but there are PROFESSING Christians that are unsaved, for other statements also read of many false Prophets, Teachers, and Ministers alike who are unsaved, deluded, leading people to follow a false Christ. Notice in verse 22; Jesus states, they had “done many wonderful works” and in verse 23, Jesus says, “I never new you” in other words, they were never saved, for He never new them. See also, Luke 6:46, Romans 2:13, John 5:24, John 7:17.
…it is to believe the Word and obey the Word. Yes, the Father’s will is 1st to believe and then to obey the Word for in this is revealed His (perfect) will.
In other words, we cannot do one without the other. Let me be quite frank with you. As we believe in the finished work of Christ and believe in the Word, you also have to obey the Word, apply the Word or you might say be a doer of the Word. We will miss His will for our life when we leave any part of the above statement out of our life. This in itself is the very will of the Father for your life and mine.
We must know the doctrine of the Word of God to obey the Word of God; for as we hear the Word and believe the Word we then must be a doer (or you might say to apply) the Word into our everyday life. The key to hearing the Word of God is whether it be of God or whether I speak of myself as stated in John 7:17.
There are many false Teachers/ Preachers / Pastors in this world with many denominations and doctrines. This is where the rubber meets the road. Individually, we all will have to rightly divide the truth as we hear the Word and in doing so we also must obey the Word or you might say be a doer of the Word. God sent His power through the Holy Spirit to be our guide, our teacher and to lead us into all truth. As a believer we must follow the very leading and guidance of the Holy Spirit.
It is vital to allow the Holy Spirit to guide, direct and lead us into all truth. The key to the truth is found in God’s Word and that of rightly dividing the Word of God. This is one of the purposes for the Holy Spirit in your life. The Holy Spirit is the teacher of truth, guiding and leading the believer into all truth. Our spirit will bare witness with His Spirit helping us make the right chooses in life.
In like manner, the Holy Spirit gives the true believer discernment for our spirit will bare witness with the spirit of the Teacher, Pastor or Minister to let us know the truth of the Word being taught or spoken. This is one of the reasons why all believers need to be filled with the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit will help us in times of trouble guiding and leading the believers in the way of truth.
God has given us all a freewill to choose which way to go. With God, Christ and the Holy Spirit in our lives working together as one, we can be assured that we will not be steared astray. As long as we keep our mind, thoughts and actions following in the path of righteousness (right living) we can be assured on the day when Christ returns or when it is our time to leave this earth we will go with Him and be with Him for eternity in Heaven. We can rest in peace; in our mind, spirit and soul that with Christ we will be safe.
God’s will for you and me starts with the saving knowledge of Christ Jesus in your life; ask, desire, and receive the infilling of the Holy Spirit; believe and have faith in God’s Word, obey God’s Word and apply God’s Word.
Again, in this one complete sentence, above, raps up the Father’s will for you and me. You cannot have one without the other, you need and must follow it all; for it is God’s will for you and me to believe God’s Word, have faith in His Word, and obey God’s Word. This is the complete package of God’s will for all mankind.
God’s ultimate will for you is to have a relationship with Him and for your soul to spend eternity with Him. This will only happen through the saving knowledge of Christ in you and the infilling of the Holy Spirit; for His will is revealed through (the Bible) His Word, as it is revealed in us through the power and working of the Holy Spirit.
The critical question is, are we opened to the working and guidance of the Holy Spirit in our lives: body, mind and spirit. We must let go of our worldly ways and let God have His way. This will only happen with complete and total surrender of our mind, thoughts, emotions, our spirit and our body to the working power of the Holy Spirit in us.
It is worthy to note that Christ and the Holy Spirit must be in us before He can work through us. When we accept Christ as our Lord and Savior we are in the beginning stage of God’s will; for truly it is a life long comittment. It is Christ working in and through us, God’s will coming forth.
As a (new) born- again believer we have the Father and the Son and His Spirit residing in us. It is vital that as a new believer we surrender our total body, mind, spirit and soul to God and the working of the Holy Spirit. Ask the Holy Spirit to take complete control of your life and become completely immersed in His presence.
Right now, spend some time in prayer with your Heavenly Father. Ask Him to speak to you and be willing, be ready to do as He asks. For He will speak through His Spirit and you must obey. This is truly the will of God; believe His Word as He speaks, obey the Word as He speaks and do the Word as He speaks. There can be no deviation from God and His Word.
In other words, we ask in faith, we listen in faith, we obey in faith and we do in faith. God’s Word is the ultimate source of our belief and faith. Our life is to be a life of faith.
Simply put, God says and we obey (do).
As always, Love in Christ Jesus,
