Do you want to know the truth? The scriptures of both the Old and New Testaments affirms, declares and guarantees and testifies of our eternal life.
As we read in John 5:39; Jesus makes this statement, “Search the scriptures; for in them ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me”. (see also James 1:18; 1 Peter 1:23)
So in other words, the written Word of God according to Christ’s declaration, is that which brings salvation and eternal life. It is the only source of information that we have about the Savior. Yes, the written Word reveals the Living Word, of Christ himself. As we see in the above scripture Jesus was speaking about the Old Testament for the New was not written then; but now we have both the Old and New Testament readily available for anyone to read.
Yes, the Living Word of God is here for all to read and believe, for in doing so, it will lead us to the Christ of of our Salvation and the Savior and Redeemer of our souls.
Truly, as we read God’s written Word (the Bible) it will come alive to us as a Rehma Word from God. This is where the rubber meets the road, you might say; for God’s Word becomes alive to the hearer or reader, placed into the heart as though God is speaking directly to you for or in your specific situation. The Word becomes alive and active as we receive and apply it into our lives. Yes, His Word is “alive and active” to the one who applies it as it is revealed to the reader.
This is what is meant by the Word of God draws all men unto Christ. When we are drawn unto Him we either accept or deny the truth into our hearts and life. Accepting Christ into our life is simply, accepting the infallible truth of the Word into our life. By faith we accept God’s Word as truth and by faith we accept Christ into our hearts. As we read the Word we began to understand truly what is meant, Christ in us the hope of Glory.
Again, the Word is active and alive to the believer and to the one who by faith receives The Truth of the Gospel, Jesus Christ shed His Blood for you and me and our sins.
As Christ is in the believer so we will want to obey, apply and do the Word; in other words, follow the very values and principles of the Word. This is where we can say, as Christ is, so are we!
May God Bless you this day… as always, love in Christ Jesus, Paul Lundmark
