The Fruit of our Salvation

My thoughts today go to our reason and purpose on earth. As we walk together in this life we are to enjoy what we have, being thankful to God and always do good; this will become evident in both our words and actions. Words can be taken as a grain of salt but your actions will, you might say, prove your words.

God cannot lie. He is true to His Word. There are promises throughout His Word in which He has spoken to and has fulfilled. For those who will believe and receive there are many more promises He has spoken in His Word waiting to be fulfilled in your life. God is faithful and His Word will become evident not only in word but also in deed and action.

As is written in the Word, God is faithful to a thousand generations. For those who love Him will obey His Word and will be pleasing in His sight. Begin to read His Word, hear His Word and apply His Word and see the faithfulness of God in your own life.

We accept the gift of salvation provided by God through His grace by faith in Christ Jesus. Through this one time act, we are “quickened”, “risen up together, and made to sit in heavenly places in Christ Jesus”.

Salvation does not come by our own, self-centered ways. Salvation comes by faith in Christ Jesus alone, “Not of works, lest any man should boast. We are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in”.

The fruit of the Spirit that was in Christ is also in the believer, for now as a believer these attributes will be evident in each of us. This is the very nature of God and Christ. You may consider the fruit of the Spirit as “power” given to every believer for we are created to do good.

This “power” of the Spirit, the fruit of the Spirit is working in each follower of Christ…the “Christian”. Love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness (kindness), faith (faithfulness), meekness, temperance: against such there is no law”.

It is good to know that God is working through His Spirit with power in each of us for the good.

Yes we “are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief cornerstone stone in whom all the building fitly framed (being joined together) in the Lord”.

We are being built as a holy temple as an habitation (dwelling place) of God through the Spirit.

With all that said, we are truly God’s masterpiece. We are to live in such a way that gives God glory and honor. It pleases God to call us His Child and we in like wise call Him our Father.

Let’s begin to live like it and walk in the Spirit of the Lord. His Spirit, the Holy Spirit, is in us to guide, lead, direct us into all righteousness.

We truly are God’s workmanship, His pride and joy!

As always, love in Christ Jesus,

Paul Lundmark
