What a beautiful sunny morning. As I sit again under my gazebo reading God’s Word I find it interesting what Jesus did to the fig tree, in Matthew 21:19.

Jesus was hungry and was walking by a beautiful fig tree, the outside appearance looked full with leaves and should be full of figs. But when He found nothing He cursed the tree and the tree withered, dried up.

We can look at this same senerio as to a person who on the outside, may look to have it all together, but inside (spiritually) they have never accepted Christ as their Lord and Savior.

They are ever abounding in the goods of this world but of no good, never producing (spiritual) fruit for those whom are in need of salvation.

In other words, the child of God will always have what the world needs and the world will find in him Christ Jesus. Fruit will always be in abundance from those that are grounded and rooted in the vine, Christ Jesus.

As the scriptures states, we are the branches and Christ is the Vine. The day will come if the branches do not bare fruit the branches will be cut off and placed in the fire to burn.

We as believers and followers of Christ Jesus must keep our spirits fed with the Word of God and take nourishment from the Vine.

Ultimately as our spirit dries up so will we. We are to be a vessel, an instrument or you might say, conduit through which and for God’s use. It will take applying His Word with obedience on a daily basis.

As a Child of God we are to be ready in season and out of season to give a testamony, or you might say to be that testamony of Christ in us. Yes, the very fruit of the Spirit will become evident in a believer and follower of Christ.

As we read in the above scripture, the fig tree was full of leaves, looked beautiful and should have fruit but it had no fruit.

We as humans become baren and unfruitful when we do not stay rooted and grounded in the Word and reject Christ.

There is a terrible fate awaiting those who rejects Christ or who once new Christ but has walked away. Their ultimate fate will be (spiritual) death and forever eternally abolishment from God and Heaven.

Let me encourage you all to make Jesus Christ your Lord and Savior. Read, obey and apply the Word of God into your life daily. Stay rooted in His Word, in Christ. The Holy Spirit will guide and direct you into all truth and the truth will set you free and the fruit of the Holy Spirit will become evident in your life bringing many into God’s Kingdom.

Yes, as we are rooted in the Vine, Christ Jesus; God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit will produce life long fruit in us and through us as His Child.

What is interesting is we can and will produce fruit in season and out of season for God’s Kingdom. The Vine is forever growing and the branches should be forever producing fruit; for the season for producing (spiritual) fruit is to be all the time. The Kingdom of God forever advancing.

When our minds stay on holy, pure thoughts our hearts will be made right and our lives will produce fruit thru right attitudes, right actions, and good deeds. In this, the world will see and desire the fruit of your life.

When we stay in the Vine we will produce this kind of fruit.

God’s Spirit, the fruit of the Holy Spirit; as stated in chapter 5 of the Epistle to the Galatians: “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control”.

Become fruitful and stay in the Vine. A life of everlasting hope to the lost and dying of this world.

As always, love in Christ Jesus,

Paul Lundmark
