Another beautiful sun rise; remindes me of the (Son) that rises within our hearts and wipes away all darkness. As the light rises darkness fades.
How precious is the blood of Jesus that washes away our sin and the working of the Holy Spirit that brings to light the darkness in our own hearts and souls. I am thankful for the love of God, Christ Jesus, and the presence of the Holy Spirit in my life; comforting me in time of my need and guiding me into all truth.
Over the last couple of days as we relaxed under the canopy of our camper; I have enjoyed watching the enthusiasm that my brother Peter has had with his metal detector adventures.
In his search for these hidden treasures, coins, he has been determined to find theses hidden treasures. I do believe he will find every hidden treasure that is around the campgrounds. At times, he will even sacrifice eating a meal, over searching for the treasures.
I am reminded in the scriptures of the treasures awaiting in Heavenly places for every believer, not only now, here on earth, but also waiting in Heaven for the “Christian ” follower of Christ Jesus.
As a believer, the Kingdom of God is within you and the treasures of the Kingdom of God is available through Christ Jesus, given to every believer who searches the Word of God and applies His Word in our everyday living.
If we are determined to make Christ Jesus our Savior and the Lord of our life; we will enter into the hidden treasures kept for those who open their minds, hearts and souls to accept a new way of living. There are hidden treasures waiting in Heavenly places for all believers. We must desire, ask, search and be determined to recieve these (gifts) given by our Heavenly Father and distributed by the power and working of the Holy Spirit within you.
The secrets of the Kingdom of God unfolds as one believes, accepts and apply God’s Gospel plan of salvation for their personal life. God our Spiritual Father has so many gifts (treasures) stored up waiting for His children. As we ask, seek and knock the door will open to these hidden places in Christ Jesus.
The parable of the hidden treasure is probably the shortest one listed in the Bible but is truly one of importance for all to receive and take hold of in their hearts.
As stated in Matthew 13:44, Jesus states, “The kingdom of heaven [that is, the kingdom of God] is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and covered up. Then in his joy he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.”
The treasures of the Kingdom of God are more valuable than anything in this life. The very treasures of the Kingdom of God is found in Christ Jesus; Salvation, Redemption and remission of our sins and yes, eternal life forever with God our Father and Christ Jesus our Savior.
Proverbs 2:1-5 Esv, “My son, if you receive my words and treasure up my commandments… if you seek it like silver and search for it as for hidden treasures; then you will… find the knowledge of God.”
As a believer we should approach the Word of God like hidden treasures, and if we do, we will gain access to the knowledge or riches of God.
“Isaiah 45:3 KJV says, “And I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places…”
As Christians, we have access to the secret things of God. Do you see this, God wants to share His secrets with us! Can you imagine God whispering His secrets into your ear, yes into your heart?
Do you treasure the things of God, God’s Word and Christ as your Lord and Savior?
Have you made your daily life become an adventure to find Him?
Or have you allowed the cares of life and your own self-discovery become as an endless road to nowhere, never finding those treasures hidden for you that are in Christ Jesus.
Jesus told His disciples to “sell all” for a treasure in the heavens. In other words, there will be times it will require some sacrifice of self, whether it be material possessions, job, a perticular relationship, etc…
Yes, our material possessions, our job, our weath (bank accounts…etc.) family and friends can never rise above our love for our Heavenly Father, God and His Son, Jesus.
Our life, our soul will never find true satisfaction until it rests solely in Christ and the riches that has been provided for us, for you in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.
So, let me ask you, what is your treasure? What does your heart long for?
“For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” (Luke 12:34 ESV)
The Bible also states in Malachi 3:17 that those who find God as their sole treasure will be a treasure unto Him:
“And they shall be mine, saith the LORD of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels…”
You can be a treasure. God wants you to become His treasure. As you draw closer to God, you might say, you will become more and more like Him.
Another way to see yourself as His treasure is symbolized in the parable of the potter and the clay. The potter is God and the clay is us. As we allow the potter to form us into a vessel for His purpose and use, we become as a treasured vessel to God. You might say, we are as a treasured jewel in the making, for Him.
Just as my brother Pete puts his found treasures in a treasure chest to be protected or kept for himself so are we God’s treasure.
Yes, He will also protect you and set you apart in a treasure chest, sort to speak. Only the most beautiful and precious jewels are kept for Him.
To God you are worth far more than rubies. You are worth so much more than silver and gold. You are so precious, that God sent His only Son, to die on a cross for you. This one man gave His life up for you. He gave up His life and He bought your freedom with His shed blood to acquire you as His child.
You might say, this one man, Jesus Christ, is pursuing you in a loving way, with great feeling, even now.
So, don’t be discouraged. Accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior. Continue to be polished through obeying God’s Word with all holiness and purity of life. Allow the Holy Spirit to work in you in all truth and with all obedience. Applying His Word with obedience in your daily living will show God your faithfulness to Him.
Don’t hide the things of God from others. Share them as the Holy Spirit directs you. If Christ has the key to your heart, (as a born-again believer), then you are free to shine your jewels.
Your life in Christ is to be a treasure that should not be hidden and the Lord is pleased with His workmanship.
Yes, in the (parable) story of the found hidden treasure; This man suddenly found something that transformed his whole outlook on life. The treasure restructured his values and priorities. It altered his goals. The treasure changed (revolutionized) the man…
…so does the man that has found Christ. When we accept Christ into our life, into our hearts, we accept a treasure that is worth more than silver or gold or rubies. The Kingdom of God is within every believer and the secrets or you might say, the treasures of God are available to all whom will believe.
The treasure in the above parable is in regards to the resurrection of life, eternal life, sealed by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit in the believer. It was the same “treasure in heaven” that Jesus promised the rich young man if he would sell his possessions, give to the poor, and follow Jesus as stated in Mathew 19:2.
Are your possessions, family and friends, maybe your position (title) in your career or cares of life becoming priority in your life.
Step back a moment and search your heart…now is the time to align up your priorities. May today be the day of change, in your heart, soul and life. A life FOREVER CHANGED!
The greatest treasure or gift anyone could ever receive in this life is our Salvation, our Redemption from the stench of sin and the freedom from the bondage of the god of this world, Satan.
The greatest gift that we could ever ask for would be everlasting life, forever being with our Lord and Savior and our Creater, God.
I thank God for the sacrifice of His Son so that I may have eternal life and a life of freedom, here, now and forever, which only comes with Christ in us. I now have a relationship with God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit.
In Him, I live, I move and I have my being!
As always, love in Christ Jesus,
