Comunication to and with God

My daily thoughts continue this morning on the infilling of the Holy Spirit a comunication from your spirit to God and from God to your spirit.

The human being is made up of a body, spirit and soul.

  • The body is composed of our mind, emotions and our will.
  • The spirit of man was given to man (breath of life). We all are born as a natural man. Because of sin, the natural man will not understand spiritual things, this included the Bible. To understand the Bible and the Gospel of Jesus Christ one must be born-again; accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior. Man’s spirit is weak and deceitful; the carnal man will show forth because our spirit is weak.
  • The soul is who we are and what will be judged in heaven on judgement day.

Through the spirit of man, there is our mind, emotions and will. Until man becomes born-again his natural nature, will rise up and will control him. Even as a new born believer,  babe in Christ, we may see the carnal nature rise up and control us at times, this is why it is important to keep your mind on the spiritual things of God.

But I have good news. Jesus came to set us free when we accept Him as our Lord and Savior. He has promised to give us a new spirit when we accept Him. This new spirit is what you might say is the born-again experience. Christ Jesus in us, His Spirit, a new Spirit leading us into a new life in Christ, in God.

John 8:36 So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.

Galatians 5:1 It
is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.

Romans 6:22 But now that you have been set free from sin and become slaves to God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life.

Man’s spirit is weak, because of the dominion of satanic power for so many centuries, but God made provision for man to communicate and edify man’s spirit and strengthen the inner man, our mind, our emotions and our will through “tongues” or unknown languages.

Yes,  this impartation to man, from the Spirit of God, to the spirit of man, brings supernatural power and strength. Sometimes man cannot articulate and put into words what he wants to say to God but the Holy Spirit knows what is in your heart and how to say it or you might say interpret it to the Father.

So it can be said that the Holy Spirit is the voice between man and God and God and man. The Holy Spirit will help us in the inner man; in the mind, with our emotions and our will to line uo to the very will of God.

“Tongues” or “speaking in tongues” is one Bible doctrine that has been the ridicule, slander and object of blasphemy on the part of man, yet it is God’s very way to communicate to and through man.

Can we afford to reject this blessed gift given to man? The blessings of the Holy Spirit given to us, our helper.

Just because we are ignorant of it’s purpose or benefits, does not make it wrong or to be ignored. When it comes to spiritual matters, God’s Word must be obeyed and followed in order to receive the blessings of the promise.

Even the “Gifts of the Holy Spirit” has become a forgotten teaching and thought of as not necessary in today’s church.

May I ask the question, where is the “power” of the church? The “church” is the people. If we “the people” “the church” are not accepting and allowing the “Holy Spirit” free reign in our lives, in our church; we will not have the power of “the church” of Acts. We will become a people, a church without power.

Remember God’s ways are not our ways. Let’s begin to let God do in us what He desires to do in us and be that vessel in which He has created us for. Believe His Word and apply His Word for today.

  • In Hosea 4:6 (NKJV) God says, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge, Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being priest for Me; Because you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children.”

Just because man cannot understand God’s ways does not make it right.

Do we lower to the human plane before we can believe that He has a better way, a good purpose in them?

When discussing the various gifts of the Spirit in 1 Corinthians,  chapter 12, Paul referred to that prophecy and pointed out that it foretold the coming of the gift of tongues to the New Testament Church. He also made mentioned of the prophecy in Isaiah, and gave one of the great purposes of the gift and that it should be a sign to unbelievers.

  • Isaiah 28:11 (NIV) Very well then, with foreign lips and strange tongues God will speak to this people, to whom he said, “This is the resting place, let the weary rest”; and, “This is the place of repose (trust or rest)”— but they would not listen.

You might say that the in-filling of the Holy Spirit is God’s Spirit alive in us. The church of Acts were brought together, unified, even though they spoke several different languages, for the purpose of “Evangelizing the Gospel” spreading the good news of Christ.

Speaking in “Tongues” is an outward sign of one “filled with the Holy Spirit” which also bears witness with your spirit for strengthening an individual and edifying the body, “the church”.

This is a mystery to the world but it is God’s divine plan for “the church” and all mankind. Yes, the Holy Spirit directing and empowering one’s life!

As always, Love in Christ Jesus,
Paul Lundmark
