Good morning to all from my backyard. Another peaceful and quiet morning as I spend a few moments in God’s Word.
I find an interesting thought in the parable of the mustard seed. In Matthew 13:31-32, Jesus gave the parable of the mustard seed as likened unto the kingdom of heaven. The mustard seed is a very small seed about the size of a pencil lead.
Yet the mustard seed (considered the least of seeds because of it size) can produce deep roots and into a large tree where birds can perch and find a safe haven.
So it is when we accept, you might say sow or plant; believe the Gospel plan of Jesus and accept Jesus as our Savior and Lord of our heart; than this seed planted in our heart will grow and the Kingdom of God will take deep roots into our heart, soul and body.
Christ Jesus begins to take root and grow in us and by the power of the Holy Spirit indwelling in us, or you might say working in us; He becomes our safe haven of refuge. This is what is meant by “IN HIM”, IN CHRIST, we live, move and have our being.
As we grow in Christ as a believer and follower of Christ and His Word, we grow stronger and stronger in His Word; becoming a part of the Kingdom of God. We become a true witness of Christ Jesus in us for others to see and take hold of.
This mustard seed (of faith) in us has been allowed to be nurtured, fed and grown by the Word of God through obedience and applying His Word into our hearts now has taken deep roots into our spirit and soul.
As we live and share the Gospel of Christ Jesus to others they too will receive, you might say, this mustard seed in their spirit and heart and it will began to grow as they too nurture and feed their mind and spirit with God’s Word
Thus this continues the process of the recurring growth of the Kingdom of God. Yes, this very small seed when planted in one’s heart can and will grow into a strong tower of saftey to whom will believe, receive, obey and apply.
My prayer is that all would accept Jesus and allow your mustard seed faith to grow into a place of safety and be used as a safe haven for God’s Kingdom.
Yes, the Kingdom of God is at hand!
As always, love in Christ Jesus,
