God’s Child

Today’s thoughts again goes to what it takes to seek God and find God. He is within arms reach for those who will earnestly seek Him.

As we earnestly seek Him (pray) and read His Word (study) there becomes a desire to know Him better and a determination to follow and obey His Word. Now that you are God’s child you have been set free from your old sinful nature.  You have been set free from doing what Satan wants you to do.

Reading and studying Gods’ Word, and obedience, is a prime way God sanctifies us for His work and living a holy and pure life.

NOW you are free to do only God’s will at all times. Do you believe this promise? As a believer we are set free to obey and do God’s will!

I am determined to serve and obey God! How about you?

  • 1 Peter 2:2 – 3 (NLT) Like newborn babies, you must crave pure spiritual milk so that you will grow into a full experience of salvation. Cry out for this nourishment, now that you have had a taste of the Lord’s kindness. As a child of God you should be hungry for the Word of God, His goodness, mercy and kindness.

God makes the Christian walk so easy…He tells you what to do and what not to do and most important gives you the desire to do what He wants you to.

Let’s pray this together…“Father God, thank you for your Word; your love, mercy and grace and for giving us the desire to want to be obedient and do what is right.”

Make these scriptures personal by placing your own name in the (      ) brackets:

2 Peter 1:2-9 (NLT) May God give (   ) more and more grace and peace as (   ) grow (s) in your knowledge of God and Jesus our Lord. By his divine power, God has given (   ) everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence.

And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable (   ) to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires. In view of all this, make every effort to respond to God’s promises.

Supplement (   s’) faith with a generous provision of moral excellence, and moral excellence with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with patient endurance, and patient endurance with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love for everyone.

The more (   ) grow(s) like this, the more productive and useful (   ) will be in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But those who fail to develop in this way are shortsighted or blind, forgetting that they have been cleansed from their old sins.

Let’s begin to do our part – putting aside our own desires and letting God have His way! His desires working in us and through us! Yes, live for God…you’re his child!

As always, love in Christ Jesus,
Paul Lundmark
