Confession – Walking in the Spirit

This morning I must say, to the one who has accepted Jesus Christ as his/her Savior, let’s look at “CONFESSION” and what it means to “confess” and to whom do you “confess”.

Becoming “a Christian” does not make us immune to sin. As a born again believer “a Christian” we have the guidance and direction of the Holy Spirit, who will guide us into all truth, but we must be willing to follow this truth and leading, guiding us into this truth.

Individually as a person, we must daily make the decision whom we will serve. This only comes by allowing the Holy Spirit to direct our way of living, being obedient to His direction and through the knowledge of His Word “the Bible”.

Again let me say I/we as an individual must make that decision, daily. With the help of the direction of the Holy Spirit and our obedience to His direction we can live a victorious life in Christ Jesus.

The carnal man will always be knocking at your door. We must always be ready to make the decision to whom we will serve. Thank God for conviction, repentance, and the forgiveness of sin. The confession of sin when recognized will bring about a renewing of your soul.

The Holy Spirit will direct, guide and convict the one whom is desiring to live right. By this I mean, the one who is seeking God and His direction.

The natural man, or unbeliever, knows nothing about carnality. The desires of the flesh warring against the Spirit, and the Spirit warring against the flesh, which began at rebirth, are what produce carnality and the awareness of it.

  • But Paul said, “Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh” Gal. 5:16. In other words, carnality will disappear as we walk in the spirit, daily. Daily looking to God and allowing the Holy Spirit to purify your mind, soul and spirit. Our life in Christ is meant to be a life of trusting in our Creator. God will take care of the one who loves Him. It’s a promise.
  • As David writes in Psalm 73:1 Truly God is good to Israel, to those whose hearts are pure. The life of the believer who walks in the Spirit will be a life free of sin and a life of blessings and God’s favor!

An important ingredient to walking in the Spirit is the confession of sin. One must confess his sin in order to be restored to fellowship with God and continual receiving His Power.

  • 1 John 1:5-10 This is the message he has given us to announce to you: God is light and there is no darkness in him at all. So we are lying if we say we have fellowship with God but go on living in spiritual darkness. We are not living in the truth. But if we are living in the light of God’s presence, just as Christ is, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from every sin. If we say we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and refusing to accept the truth. But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us and to cleanse us from every wrong. If we claim we have not sinned, we are calling God a liar and showing that his word has no place in our hearts.

As always, love in Christ Jesus,
Paul Lundmark
