Peace of Mind

Let me say this morning that until we understand our purpose in life we will not have true happiness and peace of mind.

Our true purpose in this life is first and foremost to accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. From this ONE act of obedience given from God as a free gift for a better life and an eternity with Him, we build a lifelong relationship with God our Creator, Jesus our Lord and Savior and the Holy Spirit who leads, guides and direct us into the very truth of the Gospel.

So you might say, our purpose in this life and the life after, will become revealed as we grow in the faith.

Along with accepting Christ into your heart and life is to trust, believe and apply His Word from day to day.

As we begin to grow in the saving knowledge of Christ and the Word of God, there becomes a hunger to know Him greater. His love is ever growing in the life if the believer.

Jesus said He and the Father would send the Holy Spirit as our helper, guide. The infilling of the Holy Spirit is for all believers to recieve.

With the infilling of the Holy Spirit comes a peace of mind and ultimately true happiness. In other words,  knowing your purpose in life brings you peace of mind.

We live in an environment that places limitations in and around our lives. We are limited by our senses, of time, of space, and of an unpredictable future. For we know not what tomorrow will bring.

The bondage of guilt, straps the believer from receiving what God’s divine plan is for one’s life. We all have made wrong decisions; all have sinned. This guilt will zap our strength mentally, physically and spiritually.

The peace of God will only happen when one is set free from guilt…a peace of mind from wrong decisions, mistakes and the guilt of sin.

Uneasiness about our situation in life is another deadly disease, which causes loneliness; an emptiness and loss of purpose or meaning in our lives, which in turn so many times cause one to commit suicide.

The very key to our peace of mind falls on our relationship with God. As a believer we must be receptive to the leading of His Spirit, the Holy Spirit. Repenting and turning from our sin, when we do wrong will release the guilt and your sin is forgiven by God and washed away by the blood of our Lord and Savior.

We must never quench the Holy Spirit working in our lives. As God speaks we must follow His guidance. Obedience is the very avenue that brings Gods favor into our lives. God is a loving and fair in all He does.

Everyone wants to love and be loved.

Staying focused in Christ and allowing the Holy Spirit to flow in your life will bring meaning into your life and fear of rejection and loss will disappear.

The joy and love of God will surpass you, encompass you and bring an unexplainable peace of mind.

All must put their complete trust in Jesus – who is all understanding and all powerful. We cannot win over these fears that the enemy places in our pathway by our own human effort. It will take nothing less than the very power of the Holy Spirit working in our lives.

It takes supernatural power given by Christ when He went to the cross. Through His death on the cross and His resurrection has made AMPLE PROVISION FOR THE PEACE WE SO DESPERATELY NEED FOR HAPPINESS and peace of mind.

Yes…we can win the battle against the enemies of the peace of our mind by our faith in Christ Jesus and through the power of the Holy Spirit working in the believer.

Matthew 28:18-20, Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given complete authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

And in Mark 9:23, Jesus makes this statement of the power within Him. What do you mean, ‘If I can’?” Jesus asked. “Anything is possible if a person believes.” Christ replies to our natural limitations….yes, with Christ in the believer their is no limits.

Our human, natural and carnal nature will always be tugging at our soul. But the Spirit of God within the believer is greater than anything Satan places in our sights.

We all will go through tests, trials and troubles in this life, but you can be assured as a believer, that God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit is on your side and we will always win with God on our side.

Satan is an accuser of the Brethren. Do you know you are forgiven when you repent? Yes, God has forgiven us… Romans 8:33 “Who dares accuse us whom God has chosen for his own? Will God? No! He is the one who has given us right standing with himself.”

There must be a flow of love and compassion in our lives which is the foundation of true happiness. Again let me say the love of Christ provides a basis for a lasting peace of mind.

We must come back to having a relationship with Christ and it will become a fellowship; which will bring about the love and compassion for our fellowman.

We know that true happiness and the peace of God has come when we have love and compassion for others; for the lost and hurting of this world.

Let’s begin TODAY to share love, share compassion and ultimately we share God with those around us.

A life of emptiness transformed into a life of meaning, a life of purpose in our lives, full of love and compassion. Faith in Christ Jesus will give you a life of meaning, a life of purpose and  peace of mind.

Yes, Jesus came to free you and me from the bondage of sin and guilt, and release us into the peace of mind needed for genuine happiness.

As always, love in Christ Jesus,
Paul Lundmark
