A Repentant Heart

In today’s thoughts we will look at some steps to prepare our heart to receive the Holy Spirit baptism:

1.) Walk in repentance. Proverbs 1:23 Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you.

2.) A will to humble yourself before God to receive His gift by faith. It all stems from a heart issue as stated in
1 Samuel 16:7 …the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart.

Is your heart broken and contrite?
Is it repentant?
Is it hungry for Him?

For a pure heart is emptied of all pride, it is one that is ready to be filled. As stated in Acts 15:8-9 And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us; and put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith. GOD WILL!

As a believer we are to expect the best God has for us. We are His children and He is our provider. Praying in the Spirit is more than just hoping…it is to believe and receive God’s Word for our needs and the needs of those around us.

When we pray we must pray in faith believing…FAITH IS THAT WHICH WILL BRING THE ANSWER. All of God’s promises are for us today…when we meet the conditions of the promise in which we are in need of; it shall be ours. It is the duty of the pray-er to be in constant prayer in faith believing, watching and waiting for the answer. When our very soul cries out to God, HE WILL ANSWER!

Are you willing to humble yourself before God to receive His free gift by faith. Again let me say, it all stems from a heart issue…yes, the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart.

Is your heart broken, yielded and surrendered to the Holy Spirit. He will convict, comfort and teach us all things we allow Him to.

Let’s take these 3 steps, seriously, and you will see the Holy Spirit will take up residence in the life (vessel) of the believer;

  • First, you must accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior (be born-again)
  • Next, a believer must want and desire the infilling of the Holy Spirit with all their heart.
  • And lastly, is simply to receive. As we walk in the Holy Spirit, we MUST ALLOW Him to have full reign in our life. There must be nothing in us that would hinder His flow. As we surrender those things that are not pleasing to the Father; we begin to flow in the fullness of His Spirit.

There are times while praying we do not know how to pray and what to pray. It is here that the Holy Spirit can and will pray through the believer; with that of speaking in tongues, bringing forth the desired results, birthing in us the very will of the Father.

As always, love in Christ Jesus,
Paul Lundmark
