As I sit and think about the workings of God’s creation and how He keeps the universe together is more than my mind can comprehend. I find it quite interesting how our minds work.
As I open the Bible I come to Ephesians where Paul says to put off the old man and put on the new man. You might ask, how do we put off the old and put on the new man? Let’s start by stating, the “new man” is an actual new creation as stated in 2 Corinthians 5:17. This is a miracle of regeneration performed by the Holy Spirit on a heart and mind receiving Christ by faith as their personal Savior and Lord.
Through technology, science and various schooling and teachings, our minds take in all types of man made ideas and reasonings in regards to creation, mostly based on self and what we have been taught; in essence, what I can do and have for myself as we are taught to be self sufficient. The New Covenant is not about ourselves but about Christ and the Kingdom of God and our sufficiency and need of a Savior.
We are to relay on Christ, Christ in us. We are made into a new creaton, a new man. This “new creation” is not something that can be taught and received by works but only in believing, trusting and receiving Christ Jesus in our hearts and mind, the Gospel of our risen Savior. It is the making of a “new man” by God, faith in Christ as our Savior and Lord; an inner work by the power of the Holy Spirit.
In Christ their becomes a new way of learning, a new way of talking and a new way of living. Paul is saying, when we accept the teachings of the Gospel as truth and ask Jesus to become our Savior and Lord, God, through the Holy Spirit changes our heart in a new way. We receive Christ in us and began to want to live a righteous, holy and clean life.
As we read and hear the Word of God, our hearts and very souls are crying out to our Creator for His goodness and His righteousness now within us as believers. He truly is a loving and forgiving God. Be determined to walk in the mind of Christ Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
As always, love in Jesus Christ,
