Rest in the Lord

As the day comes to a close and the evening sets, I must once again turn to His Word with the close of this day. Let’s take a few moments to look at Psalm 37.

In Psalm 37 we can see a progression of growth that comes in the life of the believer. In time we grow in the Lord.

… there must be a trust on and in the Lord and always do good,

… you are to delight in the Lord, be joyful with thanksgiving, praise and worship…sing songs unto the Lord.

… you must be committed, or you might say, “commit thy way unto the Lord” for He will direct your path.

… after we trust the Lord with our whole being, we are to delight in the Lord, give Him praise, worship and allow the joy of the Lord to be your strength; we must be committed in ALL OUR WAYS to follow the Lord.

NOW, comes “the resting in the Lord” and waiting patiently on the Lord. Resting means, “ceasing from our own work”. We are not to worry about anything for you are in the hands of the almighty, all knowing and all caring Lord, Savior and our Heavenly Father.

God orders the very steps of those who delight in Him. The mark of the Godly person is the peace that God gives.

The rest and peace in our very being is where God wants us to be; for only in Him is there rest and peace.

Now peace I leave with you…

As always, love in our Lord and our Savior, Christ Jesus,

Paul Lundmark
