Let’s start today’s thought by stating that Prayer should be “Christ- centered prayer” as stated in John 14:14. Prayer is to be “in Jesus name” or you might say “as His agent”. As a believer we become “His agent”. Yes, it all has been accomplished through the blood of Christ Jesus.
When we believe and receive Christ as our Savior and Lord; God our Father is in us, Jesus our Savior is in us and the Holy Spirit is in us and working good things in and through us.
We truly are to be the vessel, conduit and “agent” of the most Holy, Almighty, All Powerful, All Caring, All Knowing, God Lord and Savior, living inside of every believer.
Again let me say, Prayer should be “Bible-centered prayer”
…as we read in John 15:7; “If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.” For prayer to be sucessful, you must “abide in Christ” remain or continue “in the Vine”, the Word, which means adhering to and obeying the very truth of the Gospel.
Prayer should be “compassionate prayer“
…as stated in Matthew 9:38 We are to intercede for the lost. There will be times when God places on our heart that of interceding prayer for our lost family and friends.
Prayer should be “submissive prayer”
…as stated in Luke 22:42. Prayer should point to the Father’s will and not our will…again, not my will but God’s will in all things. As we read and study the scriptures, we will see many times, His will and pray His will. There will be times when the Holy Spirit will pray through us the very will of the Father.
Prayer is to be a “meaningful prayer”
…as stated in Matthew 6:7. Prayer is to be from the heart and not speaking vain repetition words.
In conclusion, Prayer should always be directed to our Heavenly Father, God.
Prayer should always be from the heart.
Prayer should include or conclude in the precious name of Jesus, giving honor, as “His agent” for He is the great intercessor between man and God. In other words, through Jesus we have access to God.
With this all said, Prayer is simply, communication to God, our Father. Prayer is never to be a chore. When Prayer is from the heart it becomes a blessing and honor to take our needs to God who is waiting to hear from His children.
May we spend time in daily communication (in Prayer) to and with our Heavenly Father. Our Heavenly Father is waiting and expecting to hear from us. He longs to hear from His children.
“We have not because we ask not” and ” Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts” James 4:3.
Let’s spend some time today, talking to our Heavenly Father.
As always, love in Christ Jesus,
