A Great Promise

This morning in my daily thoughts we will look at a great promise. And what a promise!

Please read the next paragraph slowly. This promise is found in 1 Corinthians 1:7 (NLT) Now you have every spiritual gift you need as you eagerly wait for the return of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

The NKJ version states “…so ye come behind in no gift; …

The NIV version also states, “…Therefore you do not lack any spiritual gift…

In the verse above, Apostle Paul was speaking to the “church” the “believers”.

Yes, as a born-again, “Christian”, Christ is in us. As a spirit filled believer we do have access to all spiritual gifts, including “the nine gifts of the spirit”. The Holy Spirit will distribute to who He wills for the purpose of the Kingdom of God.

In other words, these gifts are available to whomever the Holy Spirit so designates, as needed for God’s purpose. Apostle Paul also states in verse 8, “unto the end…that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord”.

This promise of the gifts are needed and available for all believers who would believe and desire them. The gifts were also given “...so ye come behind in no gift…” and for the advancing of the Kingdom of God.

They were given for the perfecting of the saints so that we may be presented “blameless” when the Lord returns.

Again let me say, the “Gifts” are given for the maturing of the believers in Christ; fulfilling His work, as a witness and testimony of Christ in us.

What a marvelous plan God has made.

Isn’t it exciting to know that God has provided to all believers, His power and gifts for doing His will, His work, while we wait for the return of our Lord, Jesus Christ.

These gifts and power are not our own – they are God’s Gifts and His Power which are freely given to mankind as the Father designates. These gifts work through the spirit in the believers. They belong to God. God has called each of us to be workers in His field…and He has made a provision for the gifts to do that which He has for us to do and has given us the power to accomplish what He has called us for.
Thank You, Jesus…for all that you have given us!

Place your name in the brackets in this scripture – Personalized: example (Paul) v.7 (        ) Now you have every spiritual gift you need as you eagerly wait for the return of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

God’s plan was developed so that all mankind could receive His plan …His plan of salvation is not determined on how brilliant or wise we are. He said all we have to do is to believe.

1 Corinthians 1:21 (NLT) Since God in his wisdom saw to it that the world would never know him through human wisdom, he has used our foolish preaching to save those who believe. Isn’t it great to know that our salvation is not dependent on our own human intellect, but on our believing. You can receive salvation and all that God has planned for you; God’s gifts and God’s power…just believe.

Maybe you have never accepted Gods free gift of salvation.

If you have not made Jesus Christ your Lord you can, right now!

1. Ask God to forgive you of your sins.
2. Repent- be willing to turn from your sins.
3. Believe that Jesus Christ died for you on the Cross and rose from the grave.
4. Through asking/prayer, invite Jesus Christ to come in and control your life through the Holy Spirit. (if you asked Jesus into your heart, just now… believe that you have received Him as Lord and Savior). Be committed to live for Him and allow Him to change your life.
5. Begin to thank Him for what He has just done for you; for saving your soul and giving you eternal life! What an awesome God we serve!

1 Corinthians 10:13 (NLT) The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure.

God’s Word says that the temptations you have are not any different from anyone else’s. Do you believe that?

Yes, many others have faced the same problems you are facing right now!

What a promise… “He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand.”

As always, Love in Christ Jesus,
Paul Lundmark
