12/31 – What is TRUTH?

As we come to the end of another year, let me leave you with this final thought of the year. The Bible, God’s Word is TRUTH to all and for all. The TRUTH of the Gospel in one’s life is brought alive through believing God’s Word.

We can be sure of true knowledge, when we have experienced the matter of the Gospel in our own lives. The born-again experience, brings true joy and real truth into our lives.

This is truly the meaning of REAL TRUTH to me. We gain head knowledge through many means but heart knowledge only comes through one way…the personal saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.

To experience heart knowledge (real spiritual truth) and how to live content in this world, only begins when you accept Jesus Christ as your personal Savior. You will receive a new spirit, a new desire to live a life of righteousness.

I have experienced this in my life and that is a fact, a truth I cannot refute. When you decide to follow Christ, that is “to become a Christian” to accept Jesus as your personal Savior you begin to come into the truth.

The wisdom and knowledge of God through His Word (the Bible) becomes unveiled and the truth becomes known to the believer.

The Bible is God’s thoughts (you could even say, God’s heart), penned by Godly men, as a guide for our lives. Another way to say this; The Bible is our manual to live by, until the Lord Jesus comes back (returns) for His believers. We were all born into sin. God’s Word, the Bible shows us the way to the TRUTH and the way to maintain our “Christian” experience.

The Christian will desire and read the written Word. To the believer, the written Word becomes God’s Rhema (spoken Word) in their hearts active and alive.

As we follow (obey) the Word, it becomes the way, the truth and the life.  As you read the Word, you will be daily lead into the truth through the guidance of the Holy Spirit. As God’s Word states, “the truth will set you free”.

Jesus states in John 14:6 “I am the way, the truth and the life…”. God’s Word “the Bible” is truth. To the non-believer, the Gospel is foolishness, but to the believer it is truth.

It is alive and active to the believer and as we read and study the Bible, the Holy Spirit will bring forth, revelation, truth and direction, and yes, discernment of right and wrong. The Bible has always been the sound doctrine and wholesome teaching sent from God for all God’s creation to live by.

It’s time we become serious about deception.

2 Timothy 4:3, NLT “For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear.”

God’s Word instructs us how to destroy deception in one’s life as stated in: 2 Corinthians 10:4-5 (NLT) “We use God’s mighty weapons, not mere worldly weapons, to knock down the Devil’s strongholds. With these weapons we break down every proud argument that keeps people from knowing God. With these weapons we conquer their rebellious ideas, and we teach them to obey Christ.

Not following Godly ways (morally) in our life will line us up for deception of the truth. Just as important is when one allows and make immoral, worldly (carnal) decisions in their life.

Satan will use deceptive practices to distract people. In so many cases people will follow after deceptive ways when their is only partial truth in the matter and partial false of the matter.

Knowing God’s Word is of the greatest importance. So many times we can be deceived when we reason out improper facts.

We as believers can be protected from deception when we put on the armor of God as stated in Ephesians 6:10-17, “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole Armour of God that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth (belt of TRUTH), and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace
(feet of Peace); Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God”.

God’s Word IS TRUTH. When you apply God’s Word in your life the truth of the matter becomes reality. To the born-again believer God’s Word is alive and active and the TRUTH will set you free.

As always, love in Christ Jesus,
Paul Lundmark
