5/06 – Seek God to Find God

This morning my thoughts continue with the subject of seeking God. In the natural, man is limited. There are times a person must “Seek God” for Himself.

When we truly “seek God” for no other reason but to know Him, we will find Him.

How do we find God? Get alone – Set your goals high. Simply say NO to all other voices; forsake television, cancel hobbies and put away the newspaper, magazines and cell phones.

Are you hungry? Are you desperate to hear from God? Those that desire to find God, will find time. It will take more than the “normal” that of not measuring up to others but go after God with your whole heart.

Paul rebukes the Corinth church because of their walk…be not “like mere men” as Paul states in:

  • 1 Corinthians 3:3 “for you are still controlled by your own sinful desires. You are jealous of one another and quarrel with each other. Doesn’t that prove you are controlled by your own desires? You are acting like people who don’t belong to the Lord.”

God wants so much more for His people. He desires us to be like Christ, not merely “normal” but Christ like!

God’s desire is to overfill our lives with the very power of Christ; God’s anointing in and through our lives, being that vessel of honor that God has created us for.

This power (the anointing) is available to all He has chosen and called to “come out” of the “familiar” and “normal daily routine” of doing things. We are not to place our security in the familiar things around us.

So many times we get in the routine of doing life and leave out seeking God for the truth. We stay in lifeless churches simply because of familiar faces. This is not the answer.

We must be rooted in Christ in all that we do which and to be continually growing spiritually in our lives. Our lives are to be based on and in the truth of Christ.

Again let me say, we don’t like change. But God does call us out of the every day routine of working all day coming home to sit in front of the television and then collapse in bed only to see our life become a chain of bondage.

If this has been your routine and you you have noticed your daily routine has lost it’s zeal maybe it’s time to get away in that secret place with God. Just you, His Word and spend some time in prayer in comunication with your Heavenly Father, God.

Just as Moses and others left the “familiar” and pitched their tent “outside the camp” where they would then seek the Lord, so we are to do the same. Jesus also went “outside the camp” that He might sanctify the people through His own blood, suffering outside the gate.

Outside the camp is simply getting alone, without distractions. You and God. Talking to God and He talking to you.

  • Hebrews 13:12-14 So also Jesus suffered and died outside the city gates in order to make his people holy by shedding his own blood. So let us go out to him outside the camp and bear the disgrace he bore. For this world is not our home; we are looking forward to our city in heaven, which is yet to come.

Remember, the highest form of prayer is to find God. This is one reason why Jesus said to get alone when you pray.

  • Matthew 6:6 But when you pray, go away by yourself, shut the door behind you, and pray to your Father secretly. Then your Father, who knows all secrets, will reward you.

God draws us to Himself…as you feel the Holy Spirit drawing you to spend time seeking after God, take the time to do it. It may be early morning, mid afternoon or during the late hours of the night… whenever…you can be certain… God does draw us and wants to speak to His children.

  • James 4:8 Draw close to God, and God will draw close to you.

God is looking for a Holy people… their must be a sacrifice of time in our daily routine to get away from the familiar and place our tent in the Presence of God.

NOW is the time to pray…seek Him. My wish for this day to all is to seek HIM and to find that place in God, in HIS presence, of joy peace and happiness…only God can provide through a life of knowing Jesus as your personal Savior and allowing the Holy Spirit to have full reign in our lives.

As always, may God’s BLESSINGS and FAVOR be with you and your family. May we become that vessel of honor that God can and will use with the flow of His the anointing, that changes lives for His purpose.

As always, love in Christ Jesus,
Paul Lundmark
