Growing as a Believer

Again, this morning, sitting outside, enjoying my early morning cup of coffee and gazing into the sky, my thoughts go to the amazingness of God. He keeps everything together in the universe. There is a time for everything. In time everything that has life comes to an end, and the cycle of life starts over with new life.

Yes, even we as God’s most treasured possessions, the human body, will age, mature, die and go back to the earth.

But I have good news, our soul will never die. When Christ comes back for the church, those whom kept the faith will be resurrected from the grave and turned into an immortal body with those who are still alive and kept the faith; will be caught up with Christ in the air.

God so created man that His soul will forever live. According to God’s Word we will all die physically but spiritually our souls live on. When Christ returns we will be instantly changed into an immortal body and with Him forever.

Here lies the one most important decision that we all will have to make here on earth. This is that decision; who we will serve now will decide whom we serve for eternity. Beyond this life, eternity, we will live on with the god of this world, Satan, or we will live forever to be with God our Creator and Christ our Lord and Savior.

In like manner, today, we are serving the god of this world, Satan, or the God of the universe.

We all have a choice whom we will serve. The God of the universe, our Creator desires to have a relationship with us. We can have that relationship with Him through His Son Christ Jesus and through the power of the Holy Spirit.

We will only have a short time to make the decision whom we will serve; for our life is just “a vapor” here today and gone tomorrow

Again I will say; This is our most important decision we will ever make, for that one decision will last for eternity.

We all are born into sin and will have to make the decision whom we will serve, the god of this world or the God of the universe. We all are born with a carnal nature, selfish desires, living for ourselves.

We are so created that we were born with a freewill with our own decisions on what to do and whom to serve; but Satan, the devil, the god of this world will use sinful carnal, fleshly ways to deceive mankind. The god of this world, Satan, will take control of our lives if we allow.

We all will have a chance to choose. The preached Word of God, the Gospel plan for all mankind will be heard by all and all will make that choice whom they will serve. One or the other.

The sinful nature is broken, forgiveness is brought to those whom chooses to follow our Creators plan of salvation. It is a free gift of grace and is received by faith when we choose His Son Christ Jesus as our Savior and Lord. The very treasures of God is hid in this mystery of Christ in the believer. In Christ is all wisdom and all knowledge.

With that said, as a believer it states in Colossians 1:6-7, ” As ye have (that is, we have received) received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving”.

Being rooted and grounded in Christ Jesus is a daily walk of obedience to Godly ways, that of His written Word. This is another reason to read the Bible, God’s Word. It will keep our thoughts and mind focusing on the very principles of God, His ways.

Always remember, God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit is always present in the believer. We must be aware and stay aware of His presence in and allow the Holy Spirit full rain in our life through yielding and surrendering our own carnal, fleshly, selfish ways; for in Christ we live, move and have our being.

“We are made complete in Christ Jesus” as stated in verse 10.

As always, love in Christ Jesus,

Paul Lundmark.
