These early mornings has been a blessing, so refreshing. Again I look into the scripures for a thought of the day, a question arises within me, What is love? What is meant by, The Love of God?
First and foremost, God’s love is given to man through His grace and mercy for all mankind. It is His love for all mankind that we have access to Him through the shed blood of His Son, Christ Jesus.
As I ponder on the above questions, I come to 1 Corinthians Chapter 13. Here we see the importance of “charity” or love as we know it, meaning a generous, genuine and unselfish concern for others.
This word “charity” or “love” in this context in the greek meaning is “agape”. It is the hightest form of “charity” “love” of God. We might say, love from God and the love God expects from man.
This charity/love as the scriptures states, is a love for others and for doing all things from the very depth (bottom) of the heart.
It is a form of love that does not expect a return. In other words, in giving your time, your finances, in exercising various gifts given from the Lord, to the body of Christ, individually as well corporately, during Church gatherings; we do all things with love as unto the Lord expecting no return.
Love is something that transend beyond faith and is to be the very lifestyle of christian living. With this type of “love” we will be know as a Christian, a follower of Christ.
In the context of this chapter it is what “love” does, and the purpose of how we do it. Whatever we do, it ought to be as unto the Lord, an unconditional “love” and in doing so our motive and purpose will be right, or you might say from the heart in right standing with the Lord, God.
This one word can explain Christ Jesus as our Savior, the very meaning of the Gospel. GOD so “loved”, He gave unconditional love, His Son; and Christ Jesus shed His blood unconditionally for all to be saved and to receive; and here we are to stand.
Getting to know God is as simple as A, B, C. [A]… We all have sinned. A.dmit you are sinner. Admit your sin…[B]… B.elieve in Jesus Christ as the sinless Son of God. Believe and trust in Jesus as your Lord and Savior. [C]…be C.ommitted. You have to make a commitment to Him by faith…for the rest of your life, be committed to living your life for Christ and in Christ Jesus.
As always, love in Christ Jesus,
