May today’s thoughts bring encouragement as we look into the Bible on the subject of faith and prayer: Faith and Prayer move God, but only God can move mountains. Yes, “all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive”, as stated in Matthew 21: 22 and Mark 11:22-25.
Jesus has given us in Matthew 21 and Mark 11, examples of prayer – asking by faith for those things you desire; when we pray in faith, it will come to past. Throughout the teachings of Jesus, we can conclude that this kind of answered prayer, as stated above, is brought about through a close relationship with the Lord. Are you willing to forsake all your own desires and seek God for who He is; holy, pure, and righteous?
As believers, we are to desire the infilling of the Holy Spirit. We are to be filled with the Holy Spirit with such a burning, hunger and desire of who God and Jesus is, in us, that we will began to see the fulfillment of the very will of God in and through our lives. Praying fervently, earnestly, from the heart comes from a relationship in knowing Christ, which brings an earnest, deeper relationship with God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit will birth those burning desires within you, during (asking), praying in faith (believing). Yes, you will receive the very answer you prayed for. He will come from within, streams of living water, joy unspeakable, and full of glory will be birthed. It will take nothing less than a daily walk with God through prayer, reading His Word, and allowing the Holy Spirit to work in and through us as we walk out our life in prayer and faith.
Faith is a faith that realizes and is a certainty that takes hold. You can be certain in God’s Word. It is yes and amen. In other words, you can be certain that praying God’s Word with faith will bring the answer. Are you certain and not wavering? In these times of uncertainty, the Holy Spirit will help us pray. To be uncertain is not faith. Again, let me say, faith is the certainty for what you ask for. In our prayers (asking), the Holy Spirit will help us to know how to pray by and in faith.
We, as believers, must keep the faith. Another way to say this is to continue in the faith of Jesus Christ. Don’t allow your faith to be broken down by walking away or doubting your faith. It is important to pray that people’s faith does not fail them…for when faith is broken down, the foundation of spiritual life gives way. In 2nd Peter, we see that faith is the very basis or foundation on which other things were to be built…here we see the necessity to build onto the faith we have thru prayer. “FAITH comes by hearing, reading, and studying The WORD of GOD.” When faith is increased through His Word, we WILL see it being accomplished through PRAYER.
Let’s begin today to feed our PRAYER with FAITH, faith in His Word. Faith is kept alive thru constant prayer, reading, believing, and obeying His Word. Faith is obedient through the word of God; for we can say that obedience helps faith and faith helps obedience. Faith acts. Faith centers itself on Christ’s abilities to do; a brokenness in prayer of our-self and complete trust in the work of Jesus Christ, Him crucified, His resurrection and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit in us as a believer.
The just, the believer, “shall live by faith” and remember that our faith is not built upon our own abilities but is built upon a firm foundation in Christ, Christ within the believer.
