This morning, let me make it perfectly clear; the Holy Spirit is not a thing. He is part of the Godhead; Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit. He is the person of the Holy Spirit. All three are working together AS ONE. God gave the believers a New Spirit, you might say, a new heart and desire to do what is right, holy and pure. Through this New Spirit, we see manifestations of the Holy Spirit in God’s Word given to each believer. These various gifts and “special abilities” are given by the Holy Spirit to whom He chooses and when He chooses, as needed, and when needed. As believers, we are to live, move, and have our being in Christ. In other words, our hearts and lives are to be open and available for the work of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit works and flows through the consecrated vessel, stemmed from our daily walk with God.
The nine Gifts of the Holy Spirit can be placed in three general Classifications of the Gifts.
First, the Gifts of Revelation;
1. The gift of the word of wisdom.
2. The gift of the word of knowledge.
3. The gift of discerning of spirits.
Second, the Gifts of Inspiration;
4. The gift of prophecy.
5. The gift of divers’ kinds of tongues or languages.
6. The gift of the interpretation of tongues or languages.
Third, the Gifts of Power;
7. The gift of faith.
8. The gift of healing.
9. The gift of the working of miracles.
Remember, these gifts represent the work of God and what He does through the life of a believer in a given situation to demonstrate His supernatural power pointing to the Gospel, for encouraging and building up the church, the believer. These gifts are given to you through God’s grace, BY FAITH. Faith is given by the Word of God and built upon the Word of God. True faith is alive, active in the Word, and to be acted upon. Yes, His promises are truth, to be walked out in our daily lives.
Today, let’s begin to ask, seek, knock, and desire these wonderful gifts – For God said He would not refuse anything good, especially these gifts, to His children. Let’s begin TODAY to walk in the “fullness” of His Spirit. Yes – a people after God’s own heart!
