In opening this morning, let me begin by saying that God has given people natural abilities to be used in this life. Along the journey of life, we learn to improve on these natural abilities through schooling and hands-on training. But these natural abilities cannot and must not be confused with the extraordinary Gifts of the Holy Spirit, which no man in themselves can provide. In 1 Corinthians, chapter 12 and in Romans, chapters 6, 7, 8, and 12, we find recorded several extraordinary gifts God provides to believers when needed, through the working of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit distributes these various GIFTS that DO NOT come naturally. Some call these Gifts, “supernatural gifts” or as the Bible states as “extraordinary gifts” namely “the Gifts of the Holy Spirit”. These gifts cannot be learned or taught by man. They are given by God and distributed by the Holy Spirit. God will give ordinary people extraordinary gifts, as they understand, desire, consecrate themselves to God, and allow the working of the Holy Spirit to flow freely in their lives. These gifts are from God and are distributed by the Holy Spirit, to whom He chooses.
There must be both an understanding and willingness to become a receiver of the gifts from the giver. God made a plan to keep the church, the believer, moving forward through the various tests, trial and tribulations of life, from faith to faith. God’s plan included “Spiritual Gifts”, especially the nine Gifts of the Holy Spirit. They are given from God, distributed and administered by the Holy Spirit, flowing from the believer, aiming to benefit those in the faith; strengthening and encouraging them. God has equipped the church/ His people with the tools necessary to maintain, provide , and care for them until His Son Jesus returns. The tools that God has given to the church are available to all believers; who will understand, desire, walk , and move in the Spirit of God.
My question to the church/ the people: Does the church realize that God has provided all that is needed, to care for and maintain His people until His return? It is time the church; the body of Christ, become equipped with the tools and the very power that was sent from on high to fill every believer, flow out of every believer and become the feet, hands, eyes, ears and mouth of Jesus. The fruit of the Spirit and God’s anointing can only be accomplished by the work of the Holy Spirit and will only be accomplished by individually yielded /surrendered people, the church, to God and the Holy Spirit.
Do you see this? If Christ is in us as a believer, the very key to the anointing of God is simply being yielded to God, Christ, and the Holy Spirit? We must continue to abide in Christ twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. We are to be the branches of the vine of the tree. Fruit will be produced in the believer through the anointing of God, the very sap of God and Christ in us. Stay pure and holy without being stained in and of the world. FRUIT will be produced in the believer as we go about our daily duties. We are to be that yielded vessel that God can and will do. Obeying God daily, 24/7 will produce fruit in you and through you. You are an ambassador and representative to the Kingdom of God. When we draw substance from the vine, we will produce fruit. God has given the church, the spiritual gifts written in the scriptures, for the perfecting of the saints and equipping all believers, to become witnesses of the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ to a lost, hurting and dying generation.
Many Christians are familiar with the nine gifts of the Spirit that Paul describes in 1 Cor. 12:4-10, and they are as stated, Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God, which worketh all in all. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; to another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers’ kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues (KJV).
These are considered extraordinary in nature, for they are not the natural abilities that we use in our everyday duties, work, etc. Let me add that the Holy Spirit, who is the distributor of Gifts, may decide to use these extraordinary gifts in and during our daily duties. Let me say again that the nine gifts of the Holy Spirit are called “extraordinary” in nature, for they are given directly from God through the Holy Spirit and not of our own abilities. May I encourage you to be open to the working of the Holy Spirit, to become a willing vessel for His purpose, concentrated to God, to His Word and His will?
