March 5: Is God’s Word Part of You

Over the past few mornings, we can see the importance of the promises in God’s Word to be read, studied, and written on and in our hearts. With that said, this morning we can say as stated in 1 John 5:14 – 15, And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him (KJV).  This is why it is so important to study God’s Word, for it will get inside of us, and when we begin to pray His Word, it becomes truth and life to the believer. You might say it becomes alive and active in our lives.  2 Timothy 2:15 states, Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth (KJV).

Faith is to believe and to receive the promises of God’s Word as we pray. So, we can see the importance to: Find God’s promises. Study God’s promises, believe God’s promises, stand upon God’s promises, receive God’s promises, live God’s promises, and PRAY GOD’S PROMISES!

As we can clearly see, when the pray-er prays God’s Word, it enables him/her to receive the answers to their prayer. As the Bible states, Proverbs 4:20 – 23, My child, pay attention to what I say. Listen carefully to my words. Don’t lose sight of them. Let them penetrate deep into your heart, for they bring life to those who find them, and healing to their whole body. Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.”. Effective praying will take that of placing God’s Word into our hearts; letting His Word take up residence in our heart. Jesus stated the utmost importance of remaining in His Word, “abiding in the vine (NLT).  John 15:7, But if you remain in me and my words remain in you, you may ask for anything you want, and it will be granted! Let me encourage all to remain in His Word. Obeying God’s Word will lead us in “abiding in the vine” and producing good fruit (NLT).
