Let’s begin today’s thoughts by stating that there is a need to be free from the issues we face today in our minds, emotions, heart, body, and soul. Our will and body must align up to our new spirit. Yes, to break free and stay free. In Christ, we can do all things. God teaches us through His Word and through the leading of the Holy Spirit, how to break free from that which holds us captive.
Understanding God’s Word and applying what His Spirit reveals will bring you the freedom that God has planned. Christ came “that we may have life and life more abundantly.”
- Do you want a life that is more abundant? Peace of mind.
- Do you have strongholds in your life that has held you captive?
Let’s list a few strongholds: A Spirit of: Disobedience, Deception, Anger, Fear, Heaviness, Persuasion, Lust, Jealousy, Controlling Spirit, Lying, Self-righteous, Pride, Unforgiveness, Depression, Traditions, Bad Attitudes, Alcohol and Drugs, Bondage (addictions) and the list can go on and on… The Lord Jesus came to set us free FROM ALL CAPTIVITY. Now is the time to walk in freedom today!
One of the greatest issues that people face today is that of holding onto a standard of right living. By this, I mean that of staying within the boundaries of God-given principles; God’s righteousness. Ephesians 4:22 – 24, throw off your old evil nature and your former way of life, which is rotten through and through, full of lust and deception. Instead, there must be a spiritual renewal of your thoughts and attitudes. You must display a new nature because you are a new person, created in God’s likeness—righteous, holy, and true (KJV).
- Romans 12:1 – 2 And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will accept. When you think of what he has done for you, is this too much to ask? Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will know what God wants you to do, and you will know how good and pleasing and perfect his will really is (KJV). See also…Eph. 6:10-17; 1 Peter 5:8-10; 2 Peter 2:9.
The first step to breaking free is to realize there is a problem. You must have a desire to be set free from the situation, whether it be it spiritual, physical, financial, or emotional. God has made a way for people to be free from bondage. Satan is a deceiver, a liar, and will try to do whatever possible to take you under if you allow Him to.
Secondly; tests, trials, troubles, and temptations are all around us. We will all go through them. When tribulations come, how will you react? It’s how we handle these troubles that bring about freedom. By believing in the Lord Jesus Christ and what He did on the cross for you, will set you free. Do you believe it? Trust God and His plan for your freedom through Christ.
There is a peace that surpasses our own understanding. This peace and assurance come ONLY through believing, accepting, and trusting in the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Yes, our trust comes from the Lord. We are to place our total spirit, body, and soul unto God. Yes, our will in the hands of our Heavenly Father God, in the finished work of His Son, Jesus, and in the working power of the Holy Spirit that resides in every believer. Our souls (that of our minds, emotions, and will), and our body (our 5 senses) must align with our new spirit. Our hope comes from God. God’s Word is truth, alive and active to the very soul of man to whom will believe and receive. THAT IS TRUST.
This is a faith that has substance and is walked out in every believer daily. A reality that comes true and is truth. 1 Corinthians 10:13, But remember that the temptations that come into your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will keep the temptation from becoming so strong that you can’t stand up against it. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you will not give in to it (NLT).
