May 1: The Price of God’s Favor

This morning, my thoughts are focused on this statement; every Christian has a need and a desire for God’s blessings and favor within their lives.

What will it take to see God’s blessings and favor in our lives? There is within every Christian a secret place, a sanctuary that must be prepared for God.

Not until this place is cleansed will the Lord dwell within us in the fullness of His Spirit. Not until this room, this temple, this heart is pure will we truly become a house of the Lord. A house of worship, a house of praise.

Let’s begin this letter by looking at what God says about “Your Body-the Temple of the Holy Spirit” 1 Corinthians 6:19-20…don’t you know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. So, you must honor God with your body (KJV).

Are we allowing the things of this world to become most important in our lives? God must have a place in all we do. In everything we do.

We (the church – the people-our bodies, are to be the temple of God) must be purged of “SIN” both spiritually and physically. Then and only then can we see the move of God in the house of the Lord, our temple.

Confession and repentance of sin will open the door to a closer relationship with God and, in return, bring REVIVAL. Ask God, right now, to reveal any sin in your life, confess and repent from those that has been revealed, turn from those sins and be determined not to return to those things that mislead you.

A right relationship is the key to revival within our bodies, God’s temple. The two most important avenues in seeing REVIVAL in our hearts, our city, our nation, and our world are opening the very depths of our hearts by talking honestly with God and being able to hear from Him when He speaks without restraints.

The very key to entering the presence of God is intimacy with God… (Intimacy is secrets shared). We, as children of God, must individually choose to serve and be obedient to Godly ways. Psalm 24:3-4 Who may climb the mountain of the LORD? Who may stand in his holy place? Only those whose hands and hearts are pure, who do not worship idols and never tell lies (KJV). (In other words, God and His ways have to be and must be our reason and desire in this life.)

Apostle Paul states it this way in Colossians 3:5 …Don’t be greedy for the good things of this life, for that is idolatry (KJV).

As I look into the Bible during the time of Jesus, I look at what Jesus did with common men and women. In just three and a half years, average men and women were transformed into fearless disciples, literally filled with the Spirit of God.

Yes – men and women as average and human as we are, turning the world upside down. You might ask – What made the difference? JESUS.
