This morning, let’s take another look at faith. Listed below are, you might say, a few gold nuggets in regards to faith, or you might say (a trust) in God and His Word. Faith (trust) dispels all undue anxiety and needless care about today and tomorrow, for true faith (trust) in Jesus Christ is faith (trust) in the present. Yes, perfect peace in the mind and heart. When praying, focus on the present…for tomorrow, will take care of itself.
- In other words, trust God for today, for the future belongs to God. Prayer is the duty that is needed, daily, yes, daily prayer for daily needs, and reoccurring daily.
- Faith (trust) sees the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior, which deals with God’s Word, is energized and inspired by the fire of His Spirit…yes, resting on His promises.
- Perfect Faith (trust) has what perfect prayer asks for. For faith (trust) is not an aimless act of the soul, but a look to God and a resting upon his promises. Just as love and hope have always been an objective, and so also faith. Faith brings about that which God has for us.
Remember, faith does not just believe anything but it believes God, resting, trusting in His Word. I believe faith always has a purpose, and that is to glorify God.
- Faith needs to be cultivated and increased by exercise by being put into use, nourished by trials, tests, and tribulations. Standing strong, ever growing
- Faith (trust) grows by reading and meditating upon the Word of God.
Real faith in God is faith that keeps me in perfect peace, about the things of earth and the things of heaven. Do you know that God will directly answer your prayers, those things you ask for, and give you peace today, yes, a NOW God? We can know God’s will in everything. God must be in all our thoughts…that we may not sin against Him. By grace, we are saved through faith, and by faith, we stay saved. Yes, we have faith that when the Holy Spirit convicts us of sin, and we ask for God’s forgiveness through prayer He is merciful and just to forgive us of our sin; for we see prayer introduces us to a life of faith.
Answered prayer is absolutely dependent upon (trust) faith. Do you know that God is able and willing to bless? Do you trust Him? Faith rests its case on those who diligently seek Him. Jesus Christ clearly taught that faith was the condition on which prayer was answered. Trust is built in times of prayer, the meeting room with God. “Have faith in God” …trust… is formed from the very foundation of prayer. Yes, the background of answered prayer is a trust in God.
As I finalize today’s thought, it is my hope that you will reach out to God in prayer, out of a desire to know Him in a deeper, personal way; for desire and prayer go hand and hand. Desire precedes prayer. The deeper one desires, the stronger the prayer. Desire is silent, that is to say, unheard…where prayer is spoken and comes out of the desire of the innermost being. Earnestly seeking God for a matter is that of desire coming, being birthed through that of prayer, an expression of “the soul’s sincere desire.” A sense of need creates an earnest desire, and the stronger the need, the greater the desire; which in turn will provide a more earnest praying. Desire is the very will of man in action. Earnestly praying out of the desire of one’s heart is that of a burning, a fire, zeal; a desire, a flame of fire.
It was the fervent effectual prayer of a righteous man that availed much. Jesus voiced these words, “blessed are they that do hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled. Here, we see the very basis of prayer, which requires an answer…the strong desire, a yearning that has entered into the spiritual appetite, wanting (waiting), expecting to be satisfied. I believe it is at this place of prayer that we can see the answer, for without desire there is no burden of soul, no sense of need, no vision, no strength, no glow of faith. If people would hold onto God, with a deathless, despairing grasp, a cry of utter self-abandonment, as Moses pleaded with God, I will not let these go, except thou bless me. Yet now, if thou wilt forgive their sin; if not, blot me, I pray thee out of thy book.
Yes, it is the praying soul that God draws near to. I must have God’s answer, a revelation of God like that not of yesterday but today, a present revelation, a fresh revelation that meets today’s need. God is able to meet the prayer of a man who is in fervent prayer. A petition that is birthed out of one’s soul, all-consuming, glowing red hot…a flame of fire that ascends to heaven. A coldness of spirit hinders prayer, and a bitter attitude in prayer will not, can not reach, ascend into heaven. In times of despair praying from the innermost being, out of desire, your prayer will more readily be answered and come forth…the fervent, earnest prayer.
As the Psalmist wrote, Lord all my desire is before thee; and my groaning is not hid from thee. Yes, God does and will answer your prayer. True fervent prayer comes from the heart, not the brain or intellectual facilities of the mind. This fervent prayer comes from the very soul of man, the throb, and gesture of the emotional nature. This prayer must be nourished and guarded against decline in our daily relationship (devotional prayer) with and to God. The life of prayer and simple faith must never be forgotten and continually be in our daily life – a part of our daily living… a never ceasing life of prayer, by faith. The end result…when God speaks… you obey!
