After being filled with the Holy Spirit, my desire for God to use me as a vessel for His Kingdom grew. This happened around the summer of 2005. While delivering mail to a medical building, a woman approached me and asked if I was Paul. I acknowledged that I was. She explained that a woman on my mail route had told her I was a man of prayer. She then revealed her friend was battling stage four cancer. He had been counseled to prepare for the end and consult his priest, as the cancer had metastasized, leaving him with only days. She requested my prayers for him.
I agreed and took a minute to pray with her for her friend. My prayer was, “Heavenly Father God, in the Name of Jesus, I ask for healing for him, and may this be a living testimony for him his family and friends from this day forward. Amen.” I asked the woman to bring me good news the next time we met. She mentioned she came to therapy every week and would see me around.
Two weeks later, as I exited my truck at the medical building, she greeted me with enthusiasm. He was released the following day, with his doctors at a loss for the sudden remission of his cancer. She continued, stating he was a teacher who had resumed work, dedicated his life to God alongside his family, and was now teaching Sunday school by the pastor’s invitation. I praise God for His compassion, mercy and love.
