THE HOLY SPIRIT IN THE BELIEVER

As we continue this topic of prayer and the Holy Spirit, let us begin by looking at another one of my favorite scriptures found in Jude. Jude expresses to us the importance of the Holy Spirit, as our teacher, especially in prayer. Jude writes, But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life (Jude 1:20-21).

Paul tells us in Romans, that the Holy Spirit is not only our teacher, but also our helper in prayer. Romans 8:26 – 27 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what [is] the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to [the will of] God (KJV).

Yes, the Spirit pleads for us believers in harmony with God’s own will. The Holy Spirit is the very power that Jesus has promised. Not only is Jesus making intercession for us, but we now see that He is also making intercession for us, according to the will of God; helping us to keep our prayers on target in line with the Father’s will for us. Jesus clarifies this very idea in: John 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, [that] shall he speak and he will shew you things to come (KJV).

Praying in the Holy Spirit brings forth revelation into our lives. When our Spirit unites with his Spirit, we are as one. This truly is God at work in us. This spiritual bonding enables us to pray with authority and strength. His desires become our desires, and His will becomes our will. The Holy Spirit is to be our life and breath, filling us with the life and power of God; an ever-ending life-producing power and prayer. His gifts are working in us! I truly believe, God gives the Spirit of supplication (asking,) for He knows what we need, and uses His Divine life within us, as a life in which prayer continually rises to heaven.

Make it your desire today, to be filled with the fullness of His Spirit. Baptized into His will; endued with power from on high! To be a vessel for His Divine purpose, to speak through, from now until eternity. Praise be to God. Truly He is merciful and full of grace.
