This morning thought is on righteousness. In our own human limitations, we can never live righteously, or work at being righteous, in that of right doing or right living and become righteous. We in ourselves will often fail those in and around our lives, for we will always be at work trying to do the right things. This can and will wear one out and leads to failure. This is why Christ came to live in the hearts of man. Sin will continue to be part of the carnal man without God, it is inevitable. Just look into the past lives of man without God in their lives.
God has placed His righteousness into our very mind, hearts, and souls through faith in Christ Jesus and through the working of His Spirit, the Holy Spirit. How good to know that we do not have to worry, fret or work at being righteous.
We are made the righteousness of Christ Jesus. Christ in the believer, through regeneration, has made us righteous.
Yes, we as followers of Christ, will want to do that which is right, a desire to stay away from anything that will lead us unto or into unrighteousness; ultimately, sin.
God has called all of us to be obedient to His Word, the “blueprint” or guidelines to live by, in this life. How exciting to know that we have a loving and Righteous God that has made a way for all to be made right in His sight. By faith I believe and by faith I receive His plan of Salvation for me.
Simply put, Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things [are] honest, whatsoever things [are] just, whatsoever things [are] pure, whatsoever things [are] lovely, whatsoever things [are] of good report; if [there be] any virtue, and if [there be] any praise, think on these things (Philippians 4:8 KJV).
Truly with our minds set on God’s Word and not on the things of this world, will lead, guide us into a life of fulfillment. In Christ we truly are made free, set free from trying to be good and living good.
My blessings are with you as you live this day unto the Lord. Enjoy this beautiful day! “This is the day the Lord has made; I will rejoice and be blessed in it.”
