My thoughts today, as I dive into God’s Word, reading one of my favorite chapters. Psalm 119 is the longest chapter in the Bible. This chapter is filled with praise of the scriptures. Let me list just a few benefits from God’s Word as stated in chapter 119. God’s Word is:
- strengthening (119:28)
- quickening (119:50)
- everlasting (119:89)
- sweetening (119:103)
- guiding (119:105)
- protecting (119:114)
- enlightening (119:130)
- purifying (119:140)
- and truth-telling (119:160)
I am sure there are many other resources that could be found but these were a few that I found.
God’s Word is truly a blueprint in which to live a fulfilling and faith filled life in Christ Jesus. His Word is alive and active to the one who reads and listens to the scriptures with open eyes. His Word will bring Revival to the mind, heart, and soul of the reader.
Salvation of the very soul for eternity is available to all whom will trust, obey, and apply God’s Word, the Bible.
Again, we all as believers are longing with an expectancy to be with our Lord and Savior for eternity, without sorrow or pain, but for now, we are in a mortal body, living by faith in Christ Jesus; waiting for His return and mortal turned into immortality, forever being with Him.
In the meantime, we are to live a life in Christ Jesus being guided and lead into all truth by Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit.
The Word in us will keep us on that narrow pathway toward heaven and into eternity with our Savior. As stated in Psalm verse 105: Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.
