Taken from my mother’s life story is as follows. In Mom’s own words. “In the summer of 1963, A tornado was coming straight toward our home. I with some of the children stood in the front yard. I looked right into the rolling, boiling enemy and said to it, “You cannot come this way, we are Gods’ … Continue reading Tornado Stands Still
Category: God Moments
As Christians, we believe that God is ever-present and with us. Yet, there are obvious moments when God’s presence manifests in extraordinary ways. These instances, which I call “God Moments,” are when God’s presence is felt more profoundly, they become powerful testimonies of a merciful and loving Heavenly Father. God is prepared to become part of every believer’s life.
Gleneva and I have been blessed with numerous such “obvious moments” over the years, and it is our hope that by sharing them, they will provide encouragement to all who read our stories. Be blessed!
The Day I Received Jesus
The summer of 1965 remains unforgettable to me. At the age of ten, I am grateful to the Gospel teacher who invited me to VBS that year. There, the Gospel was shared and taught vividly with the help of a flannel board, illustrating the concepts of good and evil, God and Satan and the love … Continue reading The Day I Received Jesus
Faith As a Child
Here is an example of God's healing power from my youth. I remember one of the first times I reached out and asked God to heal my ailing body. It was the year of 1966. I was in fifth grade and woke up feeling ill. This day was crucial for me as it was the … Continue reading Faith As a Child
In A Moment
Picture this scene: It was around May 1st, 1971. I was 17 years old, a sophomore in high school. My brother had just finished installing an engine in his 1966 Thunderbird. After placing the hood back on, he decided to take it for a test drive. He had also replaced the tires, so our other … Continue reading In A Moment
Love For a Lifetime
I had just completed reading the Bible throughout my senior year of high school. The year was 1973, and I was uncertain about my future. I considered attending a Bible School/ College in Arizona, where several of my brothers had gone, but ultimately, I chose to accept a four-year scholarship to a local college/university. I … Continue reading Love For a Lifetime
The Day God Saved My Son
In August of 1980, my wife and I drove to town to meet my brother, who owned a flatbed truck. He was going to assist me in picking up a small shed to convert into a playhouse for our sons. I chose to bring along my eldest son, Paul, who was two years old. My … Continue reading The Day God Saved My Son
An Auction to Remember
In October of 1982, Gleneva and I lived 10 miles from the city with our two young boys, who were five and three years old. We contemplated moving closer to my job in the city. Additionally, our son Paul was due to start taking the high school bus that year, and we felt it was … Continue reading An Auction to Remember
Faith In Action
I'd like to share a personal experience that I believe was a manifestation of faith in action. It occurred in the fall of 2002 when my son Joshua bought his first house. I took two weeks off work to replace his roof and re-side his house. A friend, my nephew, and another helper joined us. … Continue reading Faith In Action
God’s Word Brings New Life
This event occurred in August 2003. I served as an Adult Sunday School teacher at our church. At that time, my mother was under hospice care at her home and was expected to pass away soon. The night before, she encouraged me to go and teach the Sunday School class, assuring me she would be … Continue reading God’s Word Brings New Life
God’s Divine Power
It was early spring in 2004. The Sunday prior, I was arranging my trumpet equipment alongside fellow players in our church band. One of them inquired if I planned to attend the upcoming revival. I affirmed, declaring that not even illness would prevent me from participating. I had been earnestly seeking God through prayer and … Continue reading God’s Divine Power
